What\'s your job Donga, and where in Yorkshire are you living?

I want to send some of my exorcists to turn you to the way of light lol.

York, but I\'m way past redemption. I once urinated up the side of the Minster (no, not all the way to the top) while drunk.

I \'teach\' Art & Craft to Adults with Learning Difficulties / psychological \'problems\' (yes, in the \'old days\' it would have been call an Asylum). Wednesdays are my \'bad\' days, I have all the more \'challenging\' people on a Wednesday???

Have you ever tried explaining Papier Mache to someone with a major \'personnality disorder\'? not fun!

Most days I love my job!

Personally, I think Donga666 is in a less stressful job where he is, in comparision to the \"Kiddies\" that get into GW stores.:)
At least the pupils he has, have reasons for their behaviour/problems.

The staff and service when you walk into a store makes or breaks the reputaion of that particular store. The staff need to remember that you may not be making a major purchase on that particular day but theres always tommorow - respect and offer advice and help to ALL customers.

Excellent point! I remember being rather turned off by my local store when they had a poor employee, even though the rest of the employees were fine. They had a fellow who was really devoted to GW. If you weren\'t shopping GW or playing WH, you might as well not exist, as far as he was concerned. Luckily the store owners are smart and he was sacked. :)

I used to be a Secondary school teacher (high school for the non-Brits). Working here is MUCH better than that. GW stores, you can at least kick the sodding gits out if they got on your nerves. You can\'t do that in a secondary school, well not straight away anyway. I hate the teaching profession with a passion (I dont hate teachers :D).

You should talk to Spacemunkie, he\'s still a frontline trooper, sorry teacher!! or is that Riot police

GW was a doss most of the time, just not at the weekend or during school holidays (or if you have to paint 30 plastic Skaven in one day for the release of Warhammer Quest, the next day!). I worked at the Harrogate store, no-one there most days. But the worst was Leeds, VERY busy & hot/sweaty!!! Worst ventilation ever!!:|~ One summer evening, Thursday night game-night we recorded a temperature of 43 Deg C (dunno what that is in Farhenheit) in the store! 50 odd 13-15 year olds!! Wiffy!!!!!!

q1) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials in a brick and mortar shop?
around 50 US dollars a month in my local shop
q2) how far are you willing to drive to a \"has everything\" gaming store?
Around 20 miles
q3) are you loyal to your gaming store or do you always go where the deals are the best?
I try to stay with my local store for my purchases due to the fact I do not want them to go under (which they recently did anyway). :(
If my local store does not have what I am after and there\'s anohter store or online shop that has it I\'ll buy from them

q4) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials from online distributors?
Can\'t answer really as I don\'t do this regularly.

q5) do you prefer a gaming store that has a \"hang out here\" atmosphere?
No as most of the folks who hang out there are GITS with dubious hygene habits

q6) how old are you?
39

q7) what is the one thing that draws you to a gaming store the most?
selection more than anything, then price

q8) anyth other comments?
just curious about the reason for your questionnaire...

q1) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials in a brick and mortar shop?

About £3000-£4000

q2) how far are you willing to drive to a \"has everything\" gaming store?

5 Miles, I live near my shop

q3) are you loyal to your gaming store or do you always go where the deals are the best?

I\'m loyal to my shop

q4) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials from online distributors?

Nothing

q5) do you prefer a gaming store that has a \"hang out here\" atmosphere?

Nope, that\'s why I don\'t have a gaming table or painting table, just comfy chairs, free tea/coffee and plenty of air fresheners

q6) how old are you?

31

q7) what is the one thing that draws you to a gaming store the most?

It\'s mine

q8) anyth other comments?

I have ramped access for disabled people & I always go the extra mile for all of my customers
I also have a clearly visible notice outlining the kinds of behaviour which will not be tolerated. The fairer sex always feel welcome and are invited to flatten leery geeks :D

Shameless plug finished lol

q1) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials in a brick and mortar shop?

Well I usually don\'t spend any money at gaming stores I get other people to who I paint minis for too, I ocassionally buy primer myself. But to answer your question average is around maybe $30-60 a month.

q2) how far are you willing to drive to a \"has everything\" gaming store?

About 45mins

q3) are you loyal to your gaming store or do you always go where the deals are the best?

Hell no, it is a living sh*t hole, I buy online or at Games day when I can

q4) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials from online distributors?

same as at a hobby store, either hobby store or online

q5) do you prefer a gaming store that has a \"hang out here\" atmosphere?

I like a nice atmosphere with no weird people who will just come up to you and quote the Simpsons in the most abnoctious way, times I have wanted to literally kill and then tear the bodies of idiots at hobby stores. By the way I am a very calm person so this is really stupid weird sh*t you some times have to put up with but I dont go to hobby stores, gaming clubs are better!

q6) how old are you?
Old enough to drive well.

q7) what is the one thing that draws you to a gaming store the most?

the chance a completly hot 5 foot 8, blonde warhammer/rpg\'er would be looking for a gaming group or a BF, yes I dream and I dream well.

q8) anyth other comments?
yes clean, non smelly atmospheres work well, hire people who arnt hardcore at the gam but enjoy the games enough, I hate hardcore workers who are like ,\"cast Blacklotus and a mox, bring out goblin charbelcher, play another mox, fetch some cards and game over!\" Make sure you get atleast 2 females working so you promote a nice no sex biased store and dont take any sh*t from the little kids, and make sure you have a sweeeet logo, and cool staff shirts cause i\'d buy one. Yes so make sure you have ladies working there and play up the whole clean store idea and all, very simple things are commonly forgotten, also pick a good location say beside a grocery store so the wife goes I need some milk, then the guy goes, dear, let me go fetch the milk, 10 mins later comes home with the milk and some minis/cards, how perfect. Well enough dreaming back to the sorry exsistance of life.

q1) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials in a brick and mortar shop?
0-20 €, I guess.
q2) how far are you willing to drive to a \"has everything\" gaming store?
1 hour. I don\'t have a car so I don\'t care about the actual distance, but about how good I can get there by bus or train.
q3) are you loyal to your gaming store or do you always go where the deals are the best?
No, I buy they have what I\'m looking for.
q4) how much money do you spend monthly on gaming materials from online distributors?
I barely buy stuff online when I can get it elsewhere, but I often buy cheap minis on eBay. Does that count? I spent about 10-20 € there.
q5) do you prefer a gaming store that has a \"hang out here\" atmosphere?
Don\'t care, it\'s more important that the shop\'s near and not to expencive.
q6) how old are you?
21 3/4
q7) what is the one thing that draws you to a gaming store the most?
The fact that I need something.
