Damnit People taking credit for other peoples work, Demon Colour and the others I suggest you guys find the US Direct services number or so Pronto and call them up. Then basically talk to the person who was in charge of GD and from there explain!

Well calling US GW from Poland might be a wee bit expensive. But if Demon Color and anyone else whos models were used would email me off list at
dragon forge email address here I will give you the email address for the US content manager for the white dwarf. He can definately help you out.

If those are indeed the three in question:

The Space Wolf/Ork piece made first cut, but did not place. Neither of the other two models made first cut in their respective categories.

*edit* None of which changes the fact that the offenders should be banned from future competition, but at least they didn\'t \'steal\' a trophy from anyone.

*2nd edit* If the shaggoth did make first cut, I missed it. /shrug

I believe the Shaggoth did make first cut and could have been in contention for an honorable mention, but I didn\'t watch the judging so I can\'t say for sure on that. Darth Foley\'s right on the other two though. At least there\'s no trophy involved, but it\'s still very irritating.

Thanks darth.. at least the results werent tainted. I did look at the rules and noticed theres nothing that states the work must be done by the entrant..something that has been there in previous years rules.

There were 4 entries in LOTR Large. Somewhat surprising, yes, but not so much...LOTR as a whole was never as heavily entered and the line is slowing down. There were 60+ in 40K single and 50+ in fantasy single.

The guy that entered those models was the same one that won in the open category for the wood elfs (No, not Jeff Wilson ) His name was Andrew something (and not me either ). He claimed that he worked for Micro Art Studios and that he won 2 golds in germany. Also he was one angry dude...

Just for those wanting a quick reference (and it has mulitple views for those wanting a better look).

I know the rules that I could find online were pretty vague, but I would swear I read in a White Dwarf somewhere in the \"fine print\" part of the rules that all entries must be entered by the person who painted them and the person must be present to win. So even if this guy included the original painter\'s name on the entry slip, that\'s still not allowed.

That\'s probably right, probably meant that the pieces weren\'t scratch built.

Angela said that the gears on the base were from a cheap Ikea clock. Don\'t know where the base itself was from or if it was scratch built. I must have missed that part of the conversation.... sorry.

What really surprises me that people still try to cheat in this competition. Everytime someone tries, they get caught and banned.

I see....

The top bulk of the base is a fimo/sculptey mix, rolled out and cut out to the approximate size of the 54mm base. It was baked and later secured to a GW base with super glue. White Milliput was smooshed into the joins to create a smooth surface between the base and the top part. Then there was much sanding, cutting and swearing to get it right.
The lip edge and I- beam are from Plastruct and were glued to the top portion. Note:the I-beam product from Plastruct can also be seen on my Khador Juggernaut\'s base. Gaps here were filled with green stuff when the plastic edges were trimmed off
The rivets and one bolt were made from greenstuff.

The gears are indeed from an Ikea alarm clock I purchased for a whole $1.50 CAN. Portions of two different gears were super glued to the base. Another teeny tiny piece was used as well but hardely shows up. The other three gears are freehand onto the base.

I made no secret where I got the pieces or how I made it including when talking to the officials.

If some one could send me a list of models in question and names if posible. I will stop down and talk to the guys in charge tomorrow.

@ardyer by angry what did you mean? He not by any chance the one that had the 6 dreadnughts in the 40k tournament was he?

I doubt it. He was around the demon models way to much to have been in a tourny. He was just super pissed that he didn\'t place with more, actinging like he was some big shot painter. I\'ll PM you with the name he used, although I think I listed it before.
