Games day rules

After a LONG time hunting down the Golden Daemon rules I had a question. A friend said you are not allowed to post WIP or finished models of entries. Ie you cannot post a model on coolminiornot.com until after it has been submited to gamesday. I have looked on this site and have seen posting prior to the competition but I assume either 1) My friend was wrong or 2) there are too many models and unless your a finalist its easy to slip thru the cracks.

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

it's fine to post WIPs and even the finished mini...
coolmini is not patrolled by GD judges...

most people like to keep their entries secret until the day, and others like to submit the project to the public to help develop ideas and critiques...

the only real restriction by the rules is that the entry cannot be a winner of a previous GD...
if your mini made the finals, but did not place, it's perfectly alright to enter again the next year...
some people have worked more on the mini and come back to win a trophy...
others have just left it alone, entered again, and placed...

hope that answers your question...

cheers

Also: if you're not the guy who painted the model don't enter it :p

Seriously though, it's not a problem at all if you post the WIP's and get feedback or new ideas from others as long as you do all the work yourself.

I think you're supposed to have done the conversions (if any) on the model yourself as well as painting.

Yep, found it.

"GUIDELINES FOR ENTRIES
All entries must be personally handed in by their creator and registered at Games Day on the day. We will not accept any entries on behalf of competitors who are not in attendance at the event. All entries must be collected from the show stands at specified times by the entrant in person. These times will be published in the Games Day program and will be announced over the PA system on the day. All models should be the work of a single hobbyist. All work on models entered into the Golden Demon including but not limited to painting, modeling, converting, after-market sculpting, and basing must be performed entirely by the entrant. Neither models obtained from someone else in any state of completion nor collaborative efforts may be entered. Anyone found violating this rule will be immediately disqualified and forbidden from entering future Golden Demon painting competitions."

Coolminiornot is not connected to GW and doesn't dictate what is said or posted on here.

GW is the largest Game Manufacturer in our hobby but they don't own the internet

As the other have stated you can post what you like, when you like, without conflicting with GD rules. An example is that Giganticdark did a couple of long WIPs of his FW Ultramarine. Both the construction and painting were the subject of quite long threads and the mini was finished long before this years GD. As a result I specifically went looking for it so that I cold see it in the flesh. Outstanding piece of work it was.
