Well I\'ll be going - shorter drive now it\'s at the NEC (for me, anyway) but the lack of a decent pub may prove problematical.

How about sticking a seminar ticket to the floor and watching people try to pick it up? That will amuse for at least 5 minutes!

Not to dissude you from your studies or anything, but you might as well get ahead of the game on how to be a uni student and not bother turning up for the first day, just like you will soon not be turning up for lectures (they are pointless anyway most of the time, trust me I give them ).

They probably won\'t miss you and if they do, just say you came early, but got very drunk and lost two days, happens all the time.

Just don\'t take it too far though, what follows actually happened:

Dean: so, mind telling me why you have not been to any lectures this year.

Student: I\'ve been playing MUD (think WoW but in the 90\'s).

Dean: Well your failure to attend any lectures is unacceptable, you are in danger of being kicked out of uni.

Student: What!?! You CAN\"T kick me out, I\'m a WIZARD!

Not surprisingly they got kicked out...

I\'ll be going too, entries are in progress at the moment and coming along very well, again i\'m thinking time is going to be a big issue as i still have a lot to do, this year looks like its going to be a biggie though, matt parkes\' gd anniversarie aswell, oh dear.

i shall be there too! after many \'tammy tantrums\' (mini + frustration + wall = change of proposed GD entry) i have started sculpting my entry and for the other one decided to go for an unconverted approach. i hope to sink a few jars with you lot and randomly mutter about all the things that have gone wrong recently! yay!lol

I won\'t be there though i was planning on doing so. I\'ve never been, shame on me. Its only untill recently that i have picked up my brush to paint minis again. I do have some ideas though but they wont be done for another year

Question: Does using an older years miniature affect your score compared to one thats fresh out that year? (sorry for the hijack but i gotta ask)

Anyway. Have fun folks and I\'m sure I\'ll see all your work in White Dwarf I hope you find a pub too, i couldn\'t imagine all them screaming kids

Its generally said no.

However, you need \"wow\" factor, which basically means something new and different that stands out. New doesn\'t need to be a new mini, just a completely new way of looking at a mini, be it old or new.

Some of the NEC Halls have Bars & there may be some outside the halls. There is a hotel on the site so Joe Hill & I were going to escape to there!
