We agree that the de-hobbying of the hobby centres might bite GW in the ass at some point. Kind like peeing in your pants, it might be warm and cozy now, buuuuutt.....

The customers welcome in todays GW stores are the young beginners they can milk for alot of cash on the short term, not the consumer base checking out KS.

The only reason i feel welcome in the local GW store in copenhagen is because the current manager is a really great guy, that in no way portray the "buy og get lost attitude".

Very interesting take on the situation TrystanGST and Pygmalion. I have spent a considerable amount of time on the investor relations website already. I've been trying to really understand what makes the GW run, but solid information is sparse to say the least. If I were a shareholder, I would honestly be concerned about the value of my investment. Most of their documentation smacks of a smoke and mirrors job. I also got the impression that the last financial report was dressed up with statistics. I think the end of the year report should reflect a different situation, if it is to be believed.

I don't want to sound like a complete nay-sayer. I have been a huge fan of GWs products since the mid to late 80s, and I guess that contributes to my frustration. It's knowing what the company used to be like, with high quality and a large variety of games (Still pricey, but not insanely so). It will be a sad day indeed to see the doors close, but I agree it will be an inevitable consequence of continuing on the path they are travelling now.

As for other manufacturers, KD rates very highly as far as I'm concerned. I only have one of Adam's minis so far, but it was cleaned and ready for assembly and paint within 10 minutes of coming out of the box. A level of quality that other companies should aspire to emulate. GW has been around long enough to know how to do it this well. WHY they aren't is the question that eludes an answer.

Thats like comparing the build quality of a Zonda with a Fiat. Resin mass manufactured in the large quantities that GW and FW sell, will always be of a lover quality then say KD that perhaps ships 1000th of GW.

As for the economics, i am not savvy enough in that are to judge of GW fiddle with their books more then every other company out there does to make it look rosier.

Hey - I love the new Fiat! Haha.
Besides, If GW is Fiat they're charging $150,000 for the Abarth.

An excellent comparison :D. The big problem is GW are selling their factory second Fiats for double the price of the Zonda! ;)

I think the bitter pill would be easier to tolerate if we're actually getting value for the loadsamoney GW want us to spend on Finecast.
