Doomsayer, I think you should be okay. Just remember that the price goes up to $45 if you wait to by them at the door.
I will make it to Hooters the day before but I might not be able to get there till about 3 o\'clock in the afternoon or so. Did we have a set time we were gonna meet up there? I am a lazy old bastard who is to lazy to read back through the thread.

So I just booked my hotel room for Friday night in the SHeraton Airport hotel (I work for them and I get a $49.00 rate). I\'ll be to Hooters on Friday (6-ish, wasn\'t it?) and will have something to enter. My hubby is picking something out for me to paint but I will have to rely on you all to make sure I do it right.

Now to finish my entry for GD! Got the base 1/2 way finished last night, will finish most of the rest of the base tonight, and will be finishing filling the gaps with green stuff tonight. Tomorrow itll be primed and ready for paint...hopefully.

Just dont put LotR parts on 40K or WFB. Other than that just go by the base requirements and convert away. If you want to do a space marine with an ogre head...go right ahead! You dont have to convert...but it is a plus if you do.

Okay, so I know everyone likes to be all hush hush about their entries but I was wondering who has spent the most time on thier base(s)? Are their any crazy people out there who spent 20 plus hours just on the models base??!?! ie. Sculpting, painting, flocking...you know what I mean. This is for braggen rights:moon:

Right now I am kind of averaging 4 or 5 hours per base but I have one that took at least 8hrs.

hehehehe Well at the moment i have 11 hours on the base, and i will guess im about 70% done :D:D haha the ironc thing is that im using no flocking whatsoever!

you doin like 4-5 per base eh? thats pretty good if your doing multiple models. I only have one, so its more managable for me.

I spoke with Martin Footitt. He used one month converting/sculpting.. one month painting the mini.. and one month on the base.. :)

But his bases are as flawless as the mini...

So you are going to be at about 15 to 20hrs on your base! It would be funny if the model itself only took you 10! Go Adam, Go Adam! Sounds like you are after something long and hard...that came out totally wrong!:|~ Sounds like a slayers in your future...can\'t wait to see it! Are you going to In n Out with everyone?

hahah well the model already had 30 or so on it, and its probably at got another 10-15 to go. (i know, sounds like lots, but i actualy messed it up like 3 times and have been spending most of that time finding the color scheme that i liked best)

Oh yeah, i will be at the old in-n-out for sure! Lol, about the sword; Yeah i certainly am aiming for it, but who isnt?? thats always the goal right?

Either way we got to step it up! I am tired of going to other forums and the rest of the world is just laughing at us American painters. Not to say that we don\'t have great painters, which we do, but the level of competition over here is far less than the European community. We need some incentive to get better. Luckily I will be able to see Jeremies models without having to compete with him! I\'m hoping to swipe a little bit of talent from him while he is out here.

yeah, so I\'ll be easy to spot at GDLA...I\'m the fat guy with the broken foot.

So I got off work today, very excited that my vacation has just begun and withing two hours of being on said vacation, wham...my foot is destroyed. Oh well, I guess I will be painting for the next week or so. I hope the pain meds dont have an adverse effect on how I paint...that would be interesting! It would be aweful if I don\'t remember any of Jeremies painting clinique this weekend. Anyway, I\'m still going to GDLA...just a lot less mobile!

hahah i feel better about that brake dance challenge now! Your on! a fat guy with a broken foot eh?? Yes that is encouraging. Though not when considering all the extra painting time that going to afford you! hahah with all that time on your hands, i fear that i shall have to pick up the pace a bit! I gotta keep up, ya know! i think i\'ll just have to do away with that little bothersome issue of sleeping, its so unproductive.

Well, i got one entry down, and one or two to go, i cant wait to see what everyone brings.

Well I got the entries I had planned all done, except for a touch up here and there. So the big question is do I think I can whip something else out in this last week...Kind of seems like a fun challenge to see if I can make something competition-worthy with such limited time.

Hey Tag...I may have to do some pop-locken! I think the breakdancing will be out of the question! You had better step it up as Brice and I are out to get you this year! MUHAHAHA:moon:lol It is our goal for GD07. Push as hard as you can...I want to cry when I see your entries! That goes for you to Eric! Well, and everybody else. I say we all push and try to get that one last entry in! Good luck guys.

hahah ill do my best ollie, i believe in the past 4 days ive done something like 45 hours on my entries. I will be interested if you can spot which are mine, i like them so far, only got one done, and the other not even primed yet... ahh i see sleepless nights in my future. I suppose i wont be hard to spot at GDLA either, i will be the dishevled teenager passed out infront of the 40k single table.

How are your entries going ollie?
