Gamezone restock

O just saw the pieces in restock and they seem really inspiring! Did you paint gamezone minis? How are them compared to Rackham? Do they have all those details? 28mm right like GW Warhammer?

Are there any painted colour schemes examples?

I love the dynamics of all the models, they seem \"living\".

They\'re the same heroic 28mm as warhammer.

Excellent, beautiful models that have suffered in the casting process as ALL the models I have assembled have had massive fit problems and gaps way beyond the acceptable amount for models that scale.

I\'m not saying don\'t buy them, but get ready for an above average amount of time assembling them.

I must have been lucky as all the GZ minis I\'ve had to date have gone together like a dream apart from one which needed a small amount of filler. No worse than from other companies. What got me was that there\'s so much detail in places it\'s sometimes hard to work out where the mould lines are lol

I ordered 2 gamezone miniatures a long time ago. 2 vampires on horse, 1 is still lying unassambled because I don\'t feel like spending 2 hours on it stuffing + filing the mini. The other.. I did spent 2 hours on filling + filing and I\'m painting it up now for a painting competition. The detail is amazing and so are the poses.

The only minor is the assambling since the moulds sometimes really don\'t fit correct.

Did you paint gamezone minis? Yes the Isadora Vampire figure. It\'s a highly detailed miniature in that there is a lack of a dress, but a lot of rags around the body. ;)
How are them compared to Rackham? Do they have all those details? No, Not the same level of intracate detail, closer to GW but with some better sculpting and postures
28mm right like GW Warhammer? Yes virtually exact match...........Spooky. Almost like they intended it.

Are there any painted colour schemes examples? Not that I am aware of on their site, however there may be some in the galleries.
As Scott has pointed out the casting process hasn\'t always been carried out to the benefit of the mini or for the aid of the painter. Do be prepared to dig out the green stuff/pro-create. However not all models have huge gaps or repair requirements. Some are very minor.

I like the black orc boss model. The one with the big curved sword.

I have heard that they are not casted very well though. Meaning there are lots of mould lines and that sockets where pieces are suppose to fit together do not fit at all.

Be Positive...
Don\'t consider it a flaw, think of it as repair and sculpting practise. ;)

i have not had problems with massive mould lines. i have found on some that the model is so detailed that it does run through something though. it\'s the gaps. oh the gaps...

I\'ll just reiterate what\'s all ready been said on here. They are gorgeous sculpts, but they murdered a lot of them during the mold making process. The Black Orc Boss isn\'t that bad, but you will need to do a lot of filling as he\'s pretty much hollow inside. One of these days I\'ll get the courage to put a few of the models together, but not until I get better at sculpting.

Damn, this thread has put me off a little! I really like the look of the Vampire\'s on horses, maybe i\'ll get one to see what they\'re like.

Aidan,

I did purchase the mournful knight hero and while it\'s really nice, the casting is absolutely horrid. The horse came in three parts that fit very poorly with wide gaps in places that will require sculpting on several muscle groups. The rider isn\'t that bad, though. Either way, I probably won\'t assemble mine for years.

I don\'t understand why, when they cut up the model to make the molds, they wouldn\'t have sent it back to the artist to repair the damage done? It makes no sense. Inconvenience a few people, or inconvenience everyone who buys your product thus damaging your business when silly gooses like me bitch about it on forums.

[Edit: I\'m having one of those days]

actually, my m-k hero was alright. one of the better ones

it\'s a shame cos they would really make an impact on the market if they got their act together. they have the sculpts...

got a few gamezone minis - some fit fine others need more work but i do like them - they sculpt horseshoes on where you cant even see them when finished!
i would try them

Thank you all for your kind answers.
They look very dynamic and that\'s what I like in them.. I\'ll definitely buy one (I have my green stuff here ready to go)
