I got some pics up of my GD LA youngbloods entry. It made finals but didn\'t place. PLEASE leave some feedback.

First thing, bigger pictures would help get a better critique. I can\'t tell if the eyes are painted or not, but if not that is a must for something for a competition. I would bring up the highlights some more, the mini looks very dark and as if it only has one or two levels in the colors. Though on his hat I would go for some darker areas. His beard could be lighter in overall appearance to look white. White hair is tough.

The mini looks shiny to me, but maybe it\'s the highlighting. Do you use a matte varnish? If not, I would suggest it.

I\'ll have to look through my pictures from GD and see if I got one of this figure.

Congrats on making the first cut. Keep up the good work and keep looking to learn.

I\'d at least paint one element contrasting the others, be it robe, cloak or beard. Then further highlighting the leather and his staff (maybe painting wooden streaks if you have a steady hand) and you\'re a big step further on the road to a demon

Keep it up.

It\'s ranked about right, but as was said, a bigger pic would be very useful in judging the quality of the painting. It\'s difficult to compare it to the top 3 from the Young Bloods tourney in LA when the photos on the GW websites are large and yours is small.

Do you believe yours was better by the way? I\'m a little puzzled by the words you used above. ???

One of the things Ive been told about LOTR in a GD is that they like the color scheme to be true to the movie. I like you darker version but I think the judges may have liked a more authentic one. Voted.
