Extremely cool, but boy that must be tedious! When do we get to see them painted?

Also, the Hormagaunt\'s head dome doesn\'t look like it fits the jaws quite as well as it could. Perhaps something to address before you do another 15!

Always a pleasure to see more biodiversity shots online. Great work as usual -- and quite fitting on those spider-gaunts. Amazing.

Well done conversions always make me want to try something similar.

Me: Yeah! I should do some cool \'nid conversions!
Wallet: Nuh uh. You still have a bunch of warmachine stuff to paint.
Paypal account: yeah, fill me up with ebay sales and then try it if you must.
ebay account: feed me.
Me: oh, okay....

No, seriously. They look fantastic, but I\'m not hot on the spaghetti bases. Maybe you have a vision I can\'t see yet after rocks and grass and what-not.

wow. they have to be the coolest bugs ive ever seen. gunna need ALOT of bugspray to take them out.

im guessing your not one to skimp on expense by the looks of those spider gaunts, have you thought of using the genestealer hand arms for your \"aliens\" gaunts?

Not a bit tedious, it was really fun, as for painting i promise i will start this year painting my nids :D... heck i have 50 already and also i just got some gesso primer to try out..
will try to make better alien heads and some variants in the brood.

@hakoMike its not you its just me lol almost no one seems to like the bases hehe

@jester of death i considered using genestealers hands but for some reason i think the oldschool hormagaunt look is a bit lost in there and starts to look way to close to a stealer... besides such elaborated digit hands are not very fluffy for the everyday dumb gaunt. Nevertheless thanks for the idea mate.

Wouldn\'t giving them hands make them illegal for tournament play or some such nonsense? I know GW has some rules about WYSIWYG...

Also have you considered using molds to produce larger numbers of parts like the \"Alien\" gaunt head?

Maybe if they had rending claws it could be a problem but hands probably ok, in fact more wysiwyg than a new pair of scything talons like mine. Sometimes i simply follow the looking cool factor instead of the rule factor.

Interesting question, indeed i have considered making molds to save considerable time in such large broods of minis although i discarded that possibility just because i would be putting on hold my GS learning experience...
since i dont have time limits i rather spend time sculpting over and over again and adding new twists and details than rather copy mold.
By molding i would have faster minis on the table but would not gain experience on sculpting from that.
With that said i totally avoid molding since i would feel dirty ;)

making a paralel idea on painting would you guys prefer to have prepainted minis and touch up a bit or paint it all yourselfs hehe

I think they look really cool. reminds me a lot of some of the scenes in the Titan graphic novel! Tyranids are truly the most alien of all the species in the 40k fluff and your bases just help to show this more-so!
