Guys I had one tiny little question: if I were to send a WIP on CMON would I be aloud to enter that mini in the uk Golden demon?

posting pics and w.i.p\'s on any forum doesn\'t restrict you from entering competitions with the mini.

websites like this are designed to help people with improving and w.i.p\'s

there going to aimed towards online competitions so people cant post somebody else\'s work and enter it as there own.

where did you read that ???

never come across that .. The only instance I can think of is a couple of disqualifications of pieces that were bought on ebay so I guess if the piece appears on ebay it will be disqualified....

There has been a couple of instances where a piece that has been featured in a rulebook or other printed GW source has had problems at overseas comps.. (I think Victoria Lamb had problems with that in OZ) but UK don\'t seem to give a bugger about that.

mind you as Dragonsreach says they could change their mind on the day..

I seriously doubt it. At some point they prohibited using a wining mini in others demons, but I am not sure whether even this stand.

Anyway. Read rules. if it is not there then it is not true.

Personally though, I still think that miniature published in the White Dwarf should not be accepted for competition.

I agree with Skeeve their to a point.....

The thing is that some pieces that feature in publications have spent at least photography time in the GW studios..some have been there a long long time.. as such they get a lot more attention and judging time than pieces that aren\'t. The judges generally work in or around the studio and have had a lot longer time than the few minutes per model that is generally allotted especially in prelim at the GD\'s so in essence this is an unfair advantage.

Anyway. That\'d be a tough rule to enforce. They\'d end up having to pull a bunch of demons retroactively.

I mean... at Baltimore this past spring some nimrod entered an Ali McVey painted mini that\'s been posted both on the Studio McVey site and CMoN both. Each of those sites and certainly Ali\'s minis get a lot of scrutiny and it wasn\'t caught \'til after the competition.

Still check the rules, of course. I just don\'t know how a comp could enforce a rule like that.

That is so very true.
It has happened and was so very blatent that it did raise a lot of bad feeling and still is a subject of rancour amongst a lot of people GW staff included.
