You mean on Damen Ave? I think it\'s pretty easy to find housing in Chicago, it\'s just out of my price range and I work out in the ole \'burbs...
Would be totally awesome if you came out Matt, your stuff is out of this world!

Crazyboyae - if that\'s the case, the competition is going to be even more tougher than before hehe... I better get painting!!

I\'m really looking forward to Chicago this year. I\'m not dissing anyone else\'s Games Day, but the GD competition in Chicago is, in my humble opinion, the best/toughest in the New World. And this year should be no exception.

Now, if Mathieu and I can just find a way to destroy Chris Borer\'s \"lucky\" camo shorts, it\'ll open up the competition a little.

I know Chris, Joe Orteza and I will be either at the Golden Demon lounge or the bar lounge for most of the day.

I may well be somewhat biased, but I always think the UK one has the best of both sides - slap bang in the middle of the gaming world (well, I suppose not, but I think I know what I mean) - we get a whole load of US entrants, along with the best that Europe can offer, mixed in with all the heady amount of talent the UK can muster too. Personally, I love the mix!

I agree, but I think overall, Spain and france do have the highest standards (but that doesnt make it Ok to steal our deamons... :D)

I\'ve always thought the US/Canada side of things seem much more tradionalist in their styles - brighter colours, much more in the \'EM style, whislt you see in the Euro GDs quite a lot more new techniques and sometimes just plain bonkers stuff going on. More impressionistic, perhaps?

I don\'t think one is necessarily better than the other - I\'m terribly old school when it comes to painting minis really, but there are always stand-out pieces in all GDs throughout the world that would easily compete with the best that the other ones can do.

well just got back... and man talk about a whirl wind day. to start off...no i did not win anything. although every one of my 5 entries made past 1st cut. so i have 5 new badges. i got to meet a bunch of nice guys, jeff wilhelm again, bennet blalock-doane (a super great guy to meet), john shaffer, the wappels, john butcher....and a plethora of others. i left just before they said who the winner was, but im pretty sure a bloke from australia won. i had a few people recognize me which was a bit unnerving at first. many fo them knew me by my decepticon shirt and the minis i was carrying with me. the best part was getting kudos from golden demon winners on my entries. butcher especially liked my monowheel bikes and the rest of the guys tended to settle on my winged vampire lord i have yet photograph and my ork looted wagon. this was an incredibly TOUGH comp. this year. probably one of the best ones i have seen in years. so anyhow i am home safe and going to bed. thanks again to all the people who gave me comments and critiques and i hope to see you all next year.

p.s. not to sure who won as of yet. like i said i left a bit early to get home before 2 am. lol.

btw diorama in my opinion had a great piece by the australian bloke and the fantasy single was where it was at this year. woo!!!! tough comp. rock on all
