ok...so i\'m sculpting a golden demon \'07 entry for the warhammer monster catagory but i want to give him a shield in one of his hands...now the problem is that in \"game terms\" the monster he is supposed to be cant carry a shield...so my question to you guys and gals is : if i give him a shield when game rules state he can\'t be given one, will this decrese the chance of winning with him?...tnx

I\'m 99% sure that the judges won\'t care a bit about gaming rules violations. It\'s a painting contest, not a gaming one ;). Plus, have a look at past winners, there are even creatures that don\'t exist in the GW universes ;) :

I guess as long as it maintains the \'spirit\' of the GW worlds then anything goes as far as breaching the game rules.

It most definately (99.9% sure) isn\'t a problem.

I have never heard of a miniature being DQ\'d because something like that. What weapons or armour people can have is a rulesquestion, balanced off not to make minis too powerful etc.

However it must also be in the \"spirit\" of the warhammer world you\'re depicting. So a chaos 40k general on an Eldar Jetbike for 40k monster might be DQ\'d (or perhaps moved into Open category) But the same mini in a diorama might tell a story... etc.

The rules are most often pretty flexible I\'ve come to realise. If the judges go wow! You\'re in the game.. :)

tnx guys..i seriously believe that the model i\'m working on has a great chance of making final cut and getting me a demon this year , thats why i was wondering about the shield he normaly can\'t be equipped with. Just want to make sure silly stuff like that don\'t \"rob\" me :)...i very well know how tough the competition is at ervery gd i\'ve been to but my sculpting and painting have gone up alot the last months.
it\'s realy annoying cause i want to show the wip\'s of this guy but not sure if its to early to show him just yet..lets just say he\'s big and mean looking with (not my own words) forge world level detail...tnx again for the advice guys:)
