GD France model

hi right....

i couldn\'t find the thread so i\'ll post is here.

a couple of months ago there was a thread about the green of this mini, and it wasn\'t finnished so i thought i would post the finished piece. so here it is;

But I wasent planning on going to GD, but then people dont plan to die and that happens, so ???.....stu.....

i just noticed the paint work on this thing is REALLY BAD!:|~:|~:|~

its all sloppy i hope that one of the evey metal team hasn\'t painted it or their standards are going down the drain!

It was probebly a five minute joby, but still, not good if it was painted by a \'EAVY METAL\' painter.....stu.....

The mini is ok but nothing special, I think there have been better GD minis over the years with a better paintjob on it though my opinion could change alot.

I like it, but unless it is the UK gd mini as well there will be very little chance of me getting it. Ho hum.

the gd mini is the same for all gd\'s held that year.

and as for the paint job, not many 6 hr paint jobs will look smooth as a babies bum with the contrast needed when blown up to that size.

are you kidding? ANY mini will look as smooth as this one as long as it does have edge highlightings... its not too hard applying a smooth basecoat i mean.. the paintjob is just CRAP.


the mini itself is ok. nothing special.

it may not be amazing, but it\'s not crap.
remember, gw\'s photography usualy stinks and the mini is only 28mm.

if you want crap painting then just go and look at most gamers armies.
i think a lot of people lose track of standards once they get seriously into display painting.

don\'t misunderstand me: an army painted at this level would be one hell of an amazingly well painted army as a whole. Also for most people who are not really into the painting it is a very good level. But we are talking about the yearly Special Mini of Games Days worldwide. It\'s not what i\'d expect... i\'d rather paint it as good as i can to promote it the maximum. Also it\'s the \'EM guys who painted it i assume.. their level is much higher than this, so its totally crap compared to what they can do. thats the comparison i wanted to make.

I\'m with Albet here..
For me if they ae gonna do a speial model commemorating their premier event then there should be more effort...

The paint the base and the sculpt just don\'t live up to what a special model should be.. It\'s got more of the feel of something that wasn\'t good enough to fit into the Veterans boxed set on last release so lets bang it up for Games Day..

Not that I would expect any different but at least when they did the GD dwarf slayer it had the feel it was designed and made as a special piece for the event this is pretty poor really...

i had heard the em guys were told to lower their standards on most models now so that your everyday joe blogs saw a decent level of painting that was acheivable. personally i think it defeats the point of having the em team in that case, but o well.

If you look carefully, there are metalic flakes all over the mini, and a black splodge on the backpack exhaust, and that skull on the belt.. bleached bone, with brown ink- wtf?

If that is the mini I receive for going to GD I am not going. Those tickets are moderately expensive and if I am going to be forking over a good amount of money I want a mini that is worth more than one plastic goblin.

Iquazzu\'s version is awesome but not everyone can paint like that.
