GD France model

One is blue and one is red?

Zach

Also one is a competent standard, and another is quite awesome, i will let you decide which haha.

I agree with those who think the GD model should be something more special. If i pay £25 for a ticket, i want a model that is quite individual and painted to an amazing standard that makes me think its worth it. There is so much background to work with so surely they could come up with a nice model each year (just as a few primarchs, characters from previous game editions etc)

The model is ok and i may get it for future ebay profit and possibly to see what i can do with it. Still not what they should be promoting for the event

I think they should try harder with the GD models (apparently their trainee sculps?)
and do something special, like a display model aimed at the painter.
the new harry the hammer model for the 25th anniversary is a pretty sweet model and so was sicarius even though they weren\'t for GD they seem of a higher standard :(

Totally agree, sicarius was a sweet model and that harry the hammer is real nice also. Now why cant the standard follow with GD? when i returned to the hobby and saw the chaos warrior holding victim and the slayer on deamon head i thought great, GD models that were for the collector, the painter. Now i see this space marine. At most it should be a special campaign model or something like that. Not GD

I have reached a point where I am not inspired by GW minis at all. It sucks because I want to enter Golden Demon every year but when I think all of the models are lacking it is hard to motivate myself to paint them.

I would have to agree. As a GW fan I can see the point of it from a marketing perspective, but for most of us here it does seem a dilution of what the \'Eavy Metal pages once were.

However (leaping to their defence like the GW whore I am), if you have a chance to look at the latest White Dwarf, though, there was a Harry the Hammer painting contest and the participants (all EM team members) were told to do the best they could, and I think there was some amazing work done, with some insane freehand and some good nmm. Worth a look in your local newsagents if you don\'t want to buy it (issue 340, with the John Blanche new Harry cover).

Sealed in plastic cover, not a good idea.:D

However I got a sneek preview of the Two Chaos Demon Codex/Army books and the Harry the Hammer figure.
Paintwork in the two books is very good, differing between the two, The \"Masque of Slaanesh\" is an interesting figure, and I forsee a large number of Diorama\'s with it appearing in it.
The Harry The Hammer is a serious piece of metal. Lots of detail and weighs a fair amount. Going to be worth getting for paintings sake.

HOOLIGAN !!!

When I go into a shop and find a mag with one of those anoying plastic covers on I RIP IT OFF ! ! :flame:.
And guess what ??? ? they usually put plastic covers on editions that promise a lot on the cover but when you look inside its RUBBISH :flame:
Like the latest 25 yeas of WARHAMMER W.D. ,
Prmosed a lot ,once inside not a single article on SPACE MARINES and even worse ...:flame:  Not a sniff of a SPACE WOLF.
Surely\" TRADES Description \", should have something to say about this .......It makes me so angry I usually find other mags with plastic covers and rip them off just for the crack !!
 :moon: :flame:
My local W.H.Smith staff are very understanding when I tell them why I decimated there periodicals section :D
I think my Doctor has spoken to them ,tahts the joys of a small community ,everyone knows everyone !!!;)

Ya I definately want the harry the hammer mini but here is the problem. IT IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR 2 DAYS! That is total bull@#$&. The one time they make a mini that is so awesome that everyone wants it, they say, \"It is going to cost $25 and after we make so many we will break the mold.\" That is stupid. As good as a mini as it is it is not worth $25. Rackham minis are worth $25 because are scuplted to perfection and I feel worth every peny. The only reason Harry will cost so much is because it is limited. I wanted to buy 2 but not at $25. I think they should knock down the price to $15.

It would make a nice GD entry that is for sure.

It\'s a limited edition miniature made to commemorate the 25th anniversary of WFB, that\'s why it\'s only available for those 2 days. Seems perfectly reasonable to me. And at least you are getting it more cheaply than us in the UK, where it\'s £15/$30.

I have one reserved at my local GW. I may even buy another for further on down the line when I\'m a better painter. The GD mini, though, is very bland however well it\'s painted.

WOW !!!HOLD YOUR HORSES !!!

That little cliched 28mm chaos creep is £ 15 !
Not much price difference between him and a 54 mm historical mini, which I might add, will be better sculpted, detailled & casted !
Its time some of you guys & gals got into scratchbuilding!:D.
If you have got the artistic skill to paint ,you probably got the skill to sculpt. Its all about techniques, tricks and tools.
YOU HAVE THE POWER !!!:D :flip: :bouncy:

Which is the same price as the Mounted Archaeon for roughly the same size mini. It\'s al metal, not plastic.
And having looked at it in real life I\'d say it\'s worth it for a limited edition figure.

I\'ve been told that it will be limited in the shops, But mail orders will be taken and at the end of the week the total number ordered will be cast then the moulds \"Struck\" and rendered unusable.
