I have 4 galleries,
The People (Pics from the show in general)
http://electricocean.com/67/gallery_41.html

The Entries (Just the minis)
http://electricocean.com/67/gallery_40.html

The Judging (Pics during the juding)
http://electricocean.com/67/gallery_39.html

The Winners (People not Minis)
http://electricocean.com/67/gallery_38.html

I had a very fun time. My big advice for everyone is to say hello, and
start planning an after event dinner during the judging! Everyone was
very friendly.
So, of course I don\'t have names of all the winners, or what they won,
just their pics. Any help is appreciated!! Just leave a comment on the
gallery, anonymous comments are available. Also if you can add a vote
it helps to keep the \"Most Popular\" gallery active with the best pics!

So it\'s looking like SaxonAngel got a Gold and a Bronze.
Excellent.

I must admit that the show looks a lot smaller than the UK Golden Deamon. How many people attend ?(Roughly)
There\'s between 6-8000 at UK.

Way Smaller I think

I think the show in LA (well Ontario actually calling Ontario LA is like calling Milton Keynes London) is alot smaller than the UK show. Definitely the painting competition is smaller, although the top entries are excellent. I will post some video later tonight of the show to get a better feel of the overall event.

Lilli- \"The LA GD Slayer award, collect them all!\" :p

And last time I was there (only time) there was about 70 entries for 40K single. There was a lot of people from CMON: Sivousplay, Mrika, Shroud, keshley, and a bunch more. I hope to God they make a Dallas GD next year (seems to be following pattern of Tournament places).

Hiya 7ommy!

I hope it is just you, I ran through em all and they worked for me. Which of course might mean nothing.
PM me if they aren\'t working.
Hey Matt, thanks for the heads up. I corrected the name. (Even though you could have left a comment on there ya know!!)

As opposed to the UK having about 1500+ entries. (Wow  ) To be honest I hadn\'t realised that there was that much difference in size. I had the impression that each one of the US GD\'s was about the same as the UK\'s one and only.

Thanks......

Thanks for the great coverage Yrret!
The video was great, as I\'ve always wondered what it was like at a games day. The guys at my local GW are a little exuberant-in-a-mildly-scary-kinda-way , so I\'ve always been a bit apprehensive about attending a large event. That seemed like a pretty cool (and not too traumatizing) time. I guess I\'ll just have to take the plunge. As I\'m an east coaster, can anybody reading tell me if the Baltimore GD is similar?
Thanks again for the time and effort you put in Yrret, and cool website too.

It\'s great, good work Terry - only thing I\'d like to have seen is some video showing the volume of entries in the GD cases.

Terry the video is great. It would be totally impossible to try that at UK GD. Noise level off the map and Waaaay too many bodies.

Plus while you\'ve got both hands on the camera some thieving little buggar\'d have it away with your wallet. lol

It does show how \"civilised\" the US GD\'s are for size and freebies. The only thing we get for free, over here is a stinking head cold. lol

At GD Atlanta there was talk of alternating between Dallas and Atlanta. I for one hope that does\'t happen. It was a six hour drive to Atlanta (just under 8 according to Mapquest, but a bit of a leadfoot here :)). Dallas would be out of the question.

OK, so maybe that\'s a bit selfish, but if the alternate Dallas/Atlanta, I doubt either will be as big as if they\'d kept it in one location or the other.

Thanks for the coverage, Yrret. Maybe it will convince more people to go and have fun. I went to Atlanta, didn\'t win (of course), had a great time and felt it was worth-while. Thanks to Dragonsreach for encoraging me to go and coaching me on my entry.

Mel; I knew you would have a great time. It\'s an experience not to be missed. Just don\'t try a UK one. It\'s very busy.
Now that is an understatement!

Actually, to tell teh truth, being on the Western edge of Texas, I\'d be about the same time to LA as it would be to Dallas, maybe just a little less. The only plus, really, would be that I am more acclimated to the weather here. I swear I got off the plane in Ontario and the dust in my lungs moistened up too much.. :p

I would think they would\'ve put in a GD New York by now. I mean with three GW stores in NYC alone you\'d think that theres a big enough GW fan base.
