A miniature won silver in LotR single category on GD UK this year -- against the rules.

Yes, this is absolutely correct. If you could send your entries in I\'d have entered this year. As would many others.

Erm, I know Denis, I know he wasn\'t there at GD UK, and also, he said so himself on his LiveJournal and on the Russian Warhammer forums.

What a shame!
In 2004 year Margo take Yellow One\'s miniature to GD UK for entering in 40K vehicle category, but she cant find how to do that.
Now Margo compaining, because this is \"against the rules\"!
Double standards?

Haha, yes, I haven\'t heard any lies about me for a while, I guess it\'s about time.

To avoid any misunderstanging, indeed, in 2004 Yellow One asked me to take a miniature to London to pass it to the GW distribution director, but he never took it quoting the rules. Which was totally fair. Double standards?

outta the way Vike the girls are about to start rumbling..people would pay good money for this.....

As for the cheating who do you blame.. surely the director himself would have had to explain who\'s the model was and then get pulled up....I\'m guessing he has the double standards for doing it this year but not 2004...?

Avelorn get the silver out and dryrush the bugger.....;)

It\'s gotta be said there are always probs at GD and the controversey after is part of the spectacle but this year there are a few things that genuinel break the rules ...This and the whole tag team entries.....

ahh well......

Because they told her the rules were that you can\'t do it and refused her entry. Now they have siad to this guy you can do it and accepted the entry.
Is that really that difficult to follow?

It is simply a matter of double standards from the GD staff. Either it is against the rules or not.

it\'s always going to happen when the rules are constantly changed.

i think it\'s great that the coolmini community is doing it\'s own policing and pointing things out. wether it is mistakes through people not knowing the rules or blatantly cheating.

it\'s annoying to know that some judges know what\'s going on and turn a blind eye to some happenings yet penalise others.

at the end of the day we all know that the gd\'s are not a fair or balanced comp, maybe the militaire comps should be the ones we go to as they have fantasy categories nowadays.

She know the rules. But she wanted to do something against the rules and she wasn\'t lucky.
After this her compains looks very funny.

Question, if every one knows that there\'s always so many problems, let downs, and that the thing isn\'t that representative, why do we go on about it so much?
Is it just an endorsement for commission painting?

Well read Matts answer in the GD thread, in german gd\'s they allow it. I think it\'s up to the judges to pursue these kinds of things, even if it means tough decisions like disqualifying people on spot.. if they did what they are supposed to, nobody would or could be angry.

Now it is like it is, there is no reason to get bent out of shape because of it. Let\'s applaude the amazing winning entries instead! :D
