Sooooooo what did you all think?

I personally think it was a worse venue but a great golden demon.

The venue was crap as tommy said, the lighting was terribe and baottle of drink were £1.40 each :(, however everything else was great, the quality of the enties was outstanding, i entered 3 categories, made the cut in all of them, but failed to place :( i know, kaleth black heart won something, as did kaple for his duel and albert moreto font for his dark elf....all amamzing minis well desrving of their prizes, the revenant titan was the biggest shock to me, only bronze in open, it should have been gold all the way.

I\'ve just come back from the golden demons. It was fun to meet the people from CMON in real life, and very interesting to see the golden demon entries. Seeing them has caused me to reevaluate my opinions on quite a few things that I\'ll probably want bring up for discussion in the near future (for example the enormous difference between the pictures and the figures in real life, and the fact that figures often look a lot better on pictures than in reality). I\'ve taken lots of pictures of the CMON people that were there that I\'ll make sure to post as soon as I get back to Stockholm. The slayer sword went to Kiril Kanaev (yellowone).

Also the slayer sword was taken by a landraider, looked immense to me and seemed to desrve the prize, i will wait for proper pictures before i decide though

more info, martin footit came second in open with what i think was an inquisitor scale high elf, and jacob nielson, and adrian bay got a couple each too

......and the spanish team :eek::eek::eek:

I\'ve finally decided i\'m gonna get a whole team of great english painters and go to gd spain next year :p

For anybody intersted, i entered 40k squad with marneus calgar and his honour guard,
open comp, with a gargantuan squiggoth and orks vs an imperal guard camp,
and also goldberry in lotr single.

Kiril Kanaev\'s stuff is awesome. Haven\'t seen his entries, but as soon as I heard he was entering I knew he\'d win something. Can\'t wait to see the winners!

Yup there were some realy great entries, I made first cut in the two categories I entered which for my first Golden Demon I was very pleased with. The venue was better than NIA but still not ideal. Got a look at alot of the new LOTR stuff planned for release which for me was quite exciting especially the Easterling cataphract cavalry.

this is yellow ones titan

crap pic, the detail just isn\'t picked up, and so incredibly smooth whilst also being crisp and clean, theres not much painting any more that really blows me away but this is a real inspiration.

A great show, but more because of all the people I met (and there\'s loads I didn\'t).
Venue was generally better (no stairs to climb) but why there aircon was only on in the gaming room I don\'t know........people don\'t just smell when they game! And the GD area wasn\'t good, by the end the sun was streaming in and it was hard to see the entries on one side.

Adrian Bay got two bronzes; 40K squad and 40K vehicle; Jakob a gold in the 40K squad and another demon in something I can\'t remember; Mark Tait took a gold in Duel and another place. and obviously loads more that will become clear in time.

I was happy because I picked up that new 54mm elf from Andrea; Cheers David! Very happy man.

Oh and the food was shit. But the hotel\'s wasn\'t!!!! :D and peaceful

Great day;

The open category was very hard to judge. Martin Footits (eavy metal painter)mini was the best one in the competition IMO technically and definition-wise. It had loads of great ideas and amazing metals. Kirils was awesome as well, stylewise it was Jawdropping. Mikes had perfect blending and loads of character, beautiful face. I saw all of them very close for several minutes and I\'d picked Martin before Mike but I\'d picked Kiril as 3d as well, even though stylewise it was awesome. I\'d say they were probably 3 of the top entries this year. I really liked Joe Hills work also, and Steve Buddles. Adrian Bay was awesome as well.

I agree with Sebastian and I have revalued alot of things. Photos/IRL is a part of it. Um. and I\'m not sure about the judges decision in many categories... but it isn\'t world championship, it\'s golden demon.

oh and I got to the finals in lotr single! :)

EDIT

and oh Open entries can\'t win slayersword as the staff is allowed to enter.

Orb I am one jealous guy that Elf from Andrea is top of my wish list though I did get two of the new Black Orcs from Ilyad Games, thanks Cedric.

The lighting was terrible, also the fact that they said \"we have more room for Golden Demon this year\"yet the display area was as cramped as last years in the NIA - what the ****? I\'m sorry but I dont like being breathed on by someone who\'s obviously used the terrible food facilities while having a fat nerds stomach rubbing my arse while I try and catch a glimpse of a fantastic entry :flame:

The lighting was absolutely terrible. I met a few people there, though. Well done, BanJo on your demon! :)

I made the finals for LOTR single with my troll, which I am happy with because I tried my best.

The Spanish team did very well, I really loved the Gandalf in the LOTR category. I stood behind them in the que, it was great to get a sample of thoughts from amazing painters.

There were some beautiful boards and amazing GD entries.

Here are some pics:

I think it was an OK show, it seems everyone was a bit 50/50 on the new venue but I liked the way GD was set up rather than the old balcony set up (didnt go when it was downstairs at the NIA) but it was good having more room around the cabinets and I liked the way they constantly tried to put the best ones on the TV screens.

I do have to agree with brokenblade though as the lighting in there was awful, and half the cabinets didn\'t even have lights in either!

GD was the main attraction for me, participation games dont really do it for me, didn\'t see the point in bring and battle as i can play games at home and dont have to lug my stuff to b\'ham! the design studio was great for inspiration and drooling as per usual, lots of really nice greens and paint jobs on display.

Joe: I like the uk team idea lol!

Great to see some stunning entries IRL although lighting could have been better.

The 54mm High Elf (Open) was my favourite.

Nice to put faces to names.

My entry which was pushed screaming into the Open cat made the cut :D
