GD UK

Hi all.
Well this thread may seem very early but I find time disappears quicker and quicker.
Its been nearly 5 months since the last UK GD!

So I have a few questions.
Are we going to do another charity mini/squad like we did last year? If so any ideas yet, I found last year was a real rush.

Whos going?

Any entries started, finished yet?

I was wondering whether this year if anybody was staying near to the NEC the night before. It would be good to have an excuse to stay away for a night and talk minis and drink beer.

I have a few other ideas but thats all for now.

I\'ll almost certainly be going again.
No entries started, I\'ll probably start something after the 40k tourney I\'m going to in May

Another charity squad sounds like fun

Cheers

Il definetely be going, driving down with Laura, and most likely staying the night.

I have absolutely no plans for a GD mini. I havn\'t painted anything GW for a few month now and unless i get some motivation to paint one il probably not have an entry! But if there is a squad get together, id love to join in.

I\'ll only go if there\'s nothing better on.

If it clashes with Euro Militaire or The Paris Open then they win hands down. Both those are two or three day shows with much more socialising and competitions that are not so narrow in their scope.

I won\'t take part in a squad this year......
BTW, what\'s happening with last years squad?

Delayed do to mailing issues on the post office and my part I have to fear. Mike has been kind enough to wait till the minis finally arrive ...

Does anyone know when it is? or when it may be? Its generally in late October isnt it?

I would love to go. But it depends on my situation, and that I am in Australia.:(

@Battlebunker: Generally it\'s late september.

I\'ll most probably go 80% sure maybe. But if I decide to go to Paris Open afterall I might not have enough money to do both...

I think I\'ll go, although it really will depend on my mood and finances closer to the time. I\'ve started two GD entries, one of them is stagnating, the other is coming on pretty well considering I\'m doing it!

I won\'t be doing a squad member if it happens again this year. I ended up rushing last year, fitting it in when I didn\'t really have time to do so, and I\'m not terribly impressed that they still haven\'t been auctioned 5 months later.

Which means it\'ll either be on my wedding anniversary (23rd Sep) so NO CHANCE of going or on my birthday (30th Sep) so maybe...

Usually late september/early october, although the exact date has not been announced as of yet, to the best of my knowlege.

I will be going, and only live in Coventry which is 10 minutes away on the train so it would be rude not too!!!

Got ideas for all the categories, but I am seriously thinking about what I like the best/ what is cool and will keep me motivated and work on only 3 or 4. My goal for this year is to get a mini spinning round on the big telly screens, and a demon would be a bonus!!!

I will be going as I live 25 minutes drive away! As discussed last year we could arrange a Saturday meet up for those who live local & are staying the weekend.

Just need the date confirmed?

I will probably go but again it will depend on dates and any changes in my movements (no not that sort of movement).

Euro Militaire is 22 - 23rd Sept not sure of the dates for the Paris event but I wouldn\'t mind going to that one, I have a feeling it will clash with Euro Militaire though as either that or Euro will clash with GD and the Paris show is the weekend before.
I haven\'t seen the dates for the UK GD yet for some reason they keep it a secret until around April/May time.

Also a demon would be a bonus he he

As always I will be going and am always willing to meet up with fellow coolmini people.

But I will have to be blunt, after the stress caused by Paint Aid and then the Vostryoans with The Last Miinute Let Downs (And I don\'t mean Cedric\'s peices)and personally having to plug gaps and getting others desparately to pull rabbits out of hats, which reduced their own Gamesday entries. I Will NOT ORGANISE OR CO-ORDINATE ANOTHER SUCH EFFORT.

I\'m trying to get the time out of a very limited schedule (*) to get decent photos of the Vossies. I have to re-wire my photo set up so I intend to spend Sunday taking their Photos. (Watch out for Sparks!)

(*Chemotherapy and side effects combined with a huge work project {£50,000 server array install) haven\'t been allowing me much time. )
