Yeah well when they said smile for the camera...I did, then when I stopped, they took the picture...besides, I can\'t help but look goofy in my photos. I think it is my new trademark look...\"goofy\" HEHEHElol
Yeah, you and me both, brother.
Sorry, everyone, for not making it out to LA this year. As Lili pointed out earlier, I was indeed in the hospital for a perforated intestine. Not fun. Emergency abdominal surgery is not the most pleasant way I would spend most Wednesdays. And the 2 and a half week hospital stint wasn\'t so hot, either (though the pain meds ROCKED!!!).
I\'m home now, doing better, healing slowly. If any of you have talked to me on the phone, you know my voice is hoarse as all hell because I need to hydrate myself so much while I heal. But it\'s getting better. No karaoke for a few months, though. Dammit.
As it turns out, I was gonna finish up my Giant in the week and a half before GDLA, but the whole gut-bursting thing kinda put that on hold... Hey Aaron, your Gold-winning Ogre? That\'s like me. But the burst was on the inside. lol Hopefully, though, a bunch of folks will come out to Baltimore next year and I might have some stuff to put in the Demons, even if they have me freelance the photography again. Or maybe I\'ll just finish him up in my boredom at home (I still can\'t drive for another 2 weeks...percocet) and then post some photos. We\'ll see.
Glad to hear it was a GREAT time!! And, of course, the one time I miss goin gout there, Gary Oldman happens to show up... D\'OH!! Incidentally, I heard from some of the GW folks that his kids are really into the hobby, and Gary got into it at the Glendale, CA, store because he was sick of dropping the kids off at the GW store and then going through the mall buying crap he didn\'t need. So he started participating with them, and he actually really enjoys painting now. I don\'t know how good he is, but I\'d LOVE to see some of his work!
Other celebrities I have heard of:
Robin Williams (he actually plays Eldar...Billy Crystal was rumored to play Space Orks against him from time to time)
William Hurt (his son plays Tyranids, but I don\'t think William plays)
Will Smith (I don\'t know if he plays, but I know his son does...at the end of \"Enemy of the State\" his character\'s son is reading a Games Day flyer...they filmed part of the movie inside the same industrial park as the Baltimore Battle Bunker...they were filming when I worked at the store there, and some of the crew came into the shop and asked if they could have a couple of our flyers, so I gave them some!)
Thanks, Lili, for the good thoughts, and hopefully I\'ll see a bunch of you again soon!
