GDUK \'07 the aftermath

HI,

So ive just got back from this years gamesday and it was great. My model didn\'t get past the first cut (again) but i had a good time nevertheless.

Unfortunatly i didn\'t manage to get to the meet up at the start so i sadly didn\'t get to meet some people:mad:

I did get to see some people (Tahn,bill,Avelorn? and orkeydave) at the end of the meet up however and had a short chat to brokenblade about my entry. I also managed to grab myself some DKOK goodies from the forgeworld scrum.

I wont desclose who won what as ill let the winer let people know themselves.

So what did other people think ofthe day?

It was veddy nice :cool: I queud for half an hour in the suffocating BO masses for a DKoK Commissar only to find they were out of stock, but the rest of the day was pretty great. And I won Gold in Youngbloods :bouncy:

I also just got back, put the bike away and got myself sorted out... traffic on the M40 was worse than the M1 on the way up :mad:

I have 212 photos to upload this evening (548MB) but I will say at this stage that the CMON people I met were all brilliant, really nice people!

Was also good to meet the \'eavy metal painters.

I thought the day was ok. I just thought some thing was missing this year, it didnt feel like Games Day to me, but then again I didn\'t enter Golden Demon so i didn\'t have that kind of anticipation in me..

I managed to meet Larre as well as TheCadian, and got a glimpse of Bill and my friend from holland, shame we didnt speak.

I got my hands on loads of FW things, as well as the new basing kit..

i thought it was great saw lots of brilliant entrys including mine:D had a little talk with bill and brokenblade and rest of eavy metal team;)so it was a good day
and i also got to the finals of youngbloods again so im happy :D and crongratulations to the winners and the winner of the sword

Just got some pics up of my Gandalf model, it didn\'t make the first cut but im still happy with it as i think it one of my best paint jobs to date.

Don\'t be too down about not making the final cut. You was robbed!

I noticed your entry and it was certainly of a level that deserved a sticker I think, but I didn\'t give it one because I knew it was by you and that wouldn\'t really be right. Sorry it wasn\'t noticed by someone else though and bear in mind it was a really tough category.

If anything held it back perhaps it was the face, particularly the eyes, which could have done with a bit more work, but it\'s a really strong effort anyway and as good as some that did make final cut. Keep plugging at it, I\'m sure you\'ll make it next year.

As for the eyes i thought they were okay until today when i looked at them and thought how iffy they looked!

I\'m so TIRED!!!

Was good to see everyone, and congratulations to all the winners, you guys did a fantastic job!

Hoping that attending the event will bring back my motivation to paint.

tired, i haven\'t slept in the last 48hrs and i can\'t sleep now!

you know you want to paint something margo, just look around for a mini that you want to paint.

yeah nice to meet everyone, best bit of the day for me (as well as best smelling bit!!) shame the traffic was a nightmare but motivated me to try an entry next year!
