GDUK coverage in WD

Should this be in news? COnventions? Anyway...

Saw it today (luckily no plastic sheath on the mag or I may have missed it).

No booklet this year. We started with a great free booklet, then one that we had to pay for (with crappy pics), then a rubbish quality free booklet (with crappy pics), now they\'ve gone back to publishing them in the mag. Crappy pics again, and I don\'t think it\'s full coverage either. Oh well, that\'s my annual WD budget of £4 spent. Roll on 2008!

It\'s not the full coverage (or at least I don\'t think it is) its just an overview of all the last years Slayer Sword winners from around the world.

Ah ok good to hear. I thought it was a bit early. I didn\'t pay much attention as I was quickly flipping through on my way out (oh yeah, and the pics aren\'t as bad as the most recent WD book, they\'re just not what I\'d expect from a professional outfit).

The thing that really bugs me is when they have full coverage on the web, but everything\'s in .gif format. That\'s not completely horrible if the painter used an extremely limited palette, but it must be emberassing for the photographers to have to post such horrible shots on the web. It\'s not their fault... it\'s the guy who insisted on posting in a format limited to 256 colors.

They\'re .gifs? So that\'s why my priest looks like he\'s got some strange crusty disease! lol Even the pics taken at GD UK winners\' day (which I\'ll be going to again this year) weren\'t much better in the booklet, so i wouldn\'t get your hopes up. Last year the booklet came out in January - I remember because I bought it in Covent Garden and the GW there was really posh, despite the usual weirdo staff lol

Oh wow, So overseas they\'re all weirdos too?
Then it must be part of their hiring policies, or something. They seem like brainwashed pedophiles combined with reformed used car salesman, with a dash of pep-squad camp counselor thrown in.

At least here in the states, that\'s the impression I\'ve gotten in my visits to 27 different stores around the country.

Errr..not that bad..... would be pretty impressive of them to get the uk booklet done before we even get down there on friday for piccies...hee hee...
