German translations for painting terms

Hello @ll,

I have a question could somebody please give me some(or even all) translations for the terms you´re using for your descriptions/tipps in german please? my english isn´t that good, and if i want to use an translation prog, there comes out only nonsense...i made out some things myself and hope they are corect, here they are;

Weahtering-make something look old/used/damaged
highlighting-ok, the german translation would be \" akzentuieren i think, ehm... to simulate light faling on the mini

Phew, that\'d be a whole lot... I\'ll see if I can get some out of the way:

Drybrushing: Trockenbürsten, sollte klar sein.
Layering: Schichten, also akzentuieren durch auftragen immer kleinerer, hellerer Schichten.
Wet blending: Prinzipiell wie Schichten, nur arbeitet man hier zwei noch feuchte Farben ineinander, um einen feineren Farbverlauf zu erreichen.
Wash: so wie ich das verstehe, eine Stark verdünnte Farbe oder Tusche, die grosszügig über das Modell gepinselt wird, damit die Vertiefungen und Konturen hervorgebracht werden.
Glaze/glazing: prinzipiell das gleiche, nur wird hier die stark verdünnte Farbe (fast transparent) \"normal\" aufgemalt. Ziel ist es, mit mehreren Schichten eine Tönung der darunterliegenden Farbe zu erreichen, oder auch zu starke Farbübergänge (wie beim Schichten etwa) etwas abzumildern.

hoffe, das hilft, und wenn es weitere Fragen gibt, schreib doch einfach ne Liste in den Beitrag, dann weiss ich auch genauer, was du brauchst.

danke @ godlikebuthumble, mein englisch ist echt mies geworden seit damals in der schule!

and now in a language most of the others understand; thanks @ godlikebuthumblemy english has realy become bad since school!

ehm ok, that helped a lot, but i´m curious about some other things for example there are some short forms for the terms, i don´t know how much but for example what nmm is is obvious to me(nonmetalic painting, for example using grey instead of silver some brown/yellows for bronze/gold and so on) but, what the hell is osl? have to look aroud in the threads for some other words i don´t understand...by the way do you want to know what my dictionary told me about blending? something about Zink umrandung an Hausgiebeln...^^ (it is nonsense in german so it would be nonsense on english, thats why i´m not going to translate it).

Imagine a figure (O - object) is holding a burning torch (S - source), or standing beside a campfire - you paint the mini as though the torch or campfire were the source of light (L - lighting). So you get light on one side by the torch/fire, shadows cast by the figure\'s feet on the ground/onto a wall, and the side away from the light is usually painted very dark or black.

In short, it\'s like this applied to miniature painting.
