Geting E- Z Water on the base

I have this mini I wanted to make a beach base for.
I bought some E-Z Water, but now I don\'t how to get the stuff on the base.
Since it has to be heated I can\'t just put tape around the base where it shouldn\'t run over, right? So how do I do it? What do I wrap around the base that is heat resistend, and won\'t drench to fast( It\'s not mentioned how long it takes to dry)?

I\'d be thankfull for all help, the poor girl has been waiting weeks for her ocean.;)

Easy? PAH!

It\'s not correctly named this stuff..... I tried some on bases - it doesn\'t work as you have to heat it up too much. It\'ll only work if you use a wooden base and even then I\'ve had problems with it burning my paint, bubbling and lapping unrealistically up against stuff. I gave up and bought clear polyurethane resin. If you have any success please let me know, \'cos I\'ve got loads left.......

Hm, doesn\'t sound good. Description said it only wouldn\'t work on styropor.
Well, the mini ain\'t suposed to come into contact with the water, so it can\'t destroy to much.
I only bought E-Z Water because I\'m planing an other project with a waterfall and the clerk said it was better for that than the liquid stuff.

Get the liquid stuff!

Howdy,

I can\'t remember the name of the stuff, but it is essentially a clear epoxy that is liquid (probably the other stuff you were talking about) that works out very well.

Paint your base your water color (some blues and white will work well), tape it up, and poor in some of the epoxy. You can only poor about an 1/8 of an inch at a time (plenty for what you need it for) and then you have to let it setup for 24 hours before you can do more with it.

Looks great and is durable.
