I am enlisting the help of the CMON community here.
In short, i feel kinda down. a bit dull. a bit off-colour. what ever. the point is, i feel like crap. so, i would like people to give me some ideas for getting the ball rolling again.
Any way you can help me is appreciated. Thanks.

Sing with me!

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side...

Come on, that\'s gotta make you smile!

I was just kidding. Shawn is right. Add to that some fresh air and sunshine. When I start to get a little down I like to take a really long, hot shower and then go for a brisk walk. If that doesn\'t help then I go work with my horse.

Is there something in particular that\'s bothering you, or are you just in a funk?

get to the most beautiful area in your hood sit down and look around and get some sunlight
Open you windows more and if you can not do that get the daylight bulbs

Take a e class or a night class in art, your into this and it helps as well as gets you out and about, pell grants are pretty easy to get.

help someone else with less then your self they are easy to find most often

Tapes/cd\'s from the Dalai Lama seem to really really help I get them from the local library

Your at one heck of an age as well things change quickly look for positives and adapt to fit them, thinking Mickey dees if you are still there is not helping you be cheery.

college sucks for social life unless you have green.

I see you work at McD\'s. In addition to school that leave a full schedule.

carve out a few pieces of your schedule for getting out - either alone or with friends. Biking, walking, frisbee golf, day at the zoo with the camera for background matierial.

The best way to beat the blues is to do something.

If it does not shake by the week after finals, see a Dr. and have a check up. Same if it gets worse.

Spazzy - I\'m just in a funk at the moment. and yes, the song did make me smile.
Shawn - Sugar and caffeine are going to go. i try and budget so that i put fuel in the car and the rest goes to my minis, as this means that i don\'t go and buy packets of licorice bullets and stuff like that.
I used to swim, but i just gave that up. i don\'t know why. i just couldn\'t find the motivation to keep doing it.
TAB - I\'m quitting maccas soon. I\'m going to put my application at anywhere i can find, and anywhere has got to be better than maccas. I mean, it\'s not a good situation. i\'m 17, i cant do half as well as everyone else, and everyone at work hates me. not good. yeah. getting out of there soon.
Just as a question do you think metal music is ideal for painting or should i find something else? I was thinking relaxation music or something like that.
farseerlum - i do most of my forum stuff at school so i can\'t get onto it from here but i will look at it another time.
uberdark - i went through that phase. but with more sharp stuff. goddamn emos.
airhead - i\'ve been trying to do that. inbetween my art major (which is on minis thankfully), my 3U maths and my English, plus work (which in all honesty doesn\'t put much strain on time, yet puts much strain on my self esteem) plus a girlfriend (who has been a great help) there\'s not much room left in the day.
Thanks guys. Group hug :)

You have already gotten lots of good advice, but I would add this:

Watch a good comedy or inspirational movie with some friends - Hot Fuzz comes to mind for comedy as my wife and I nearly collapsed laughing when we saw it recently. For inspiration - Door to Door is really good.

...home and put some clothes on. lol

Now, if that thought doesn\'t cheer you up nothing will.

Seriously though, I think we\'ve all been through times when life just feels crap. The important thing is to work through it, keep busy and remember its perfectly normal. You\'ll come out the other side a stronger person. The great thing about a place like CMON is that you\'re never alone either, there\'s a ton of friendly people here all on your side ;)

I pretty much agree with a lot of what has been said. Exercise is important, sunlight/full spectrum bulbs are a big help, and also a good diet helps a ton. But I believe both to make sure to eat good food and food that is good for you. I mean make sure you get your proteins, vegetables, carbohydrates, vitamins, and then top it off with a bit of something indulgent, ice cream, chocolate or whatever works for you. I think so many people settle for food that both doesn\'t taste good and isn\'t good for you (fast food, etc...), and as a result don\'t get either the boost from feeling healthy, or the boost from eating something which is actually indulgent. It\'s not hard to do once you realize! :)

Uber@ Awww... somehow i can see you doing this the day you heard about prime\'s lips. But you forgot that you have to have your hair dyed and shaved/cut funny to really be emo.

I recon Shawn is on the right track exercise, exercise, exercise. Start off with what your comfortable doing and build up from there. Just keep going until the only thing that’s holding you back is your own head.
I know it sounds a bit gung ho but exercise releases wonderful little chemicals through your body and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside (as well as a little bit tired).
Anyway it worked for me a couple of years back and allowed me to get back to the important business of painting minis:rolleyes:

Good luck
(oh and Hot Fuzz, frikin awesome movie)
