Getting over the 5-6 hump

Coffin Dodger / Keymaster
The elf\'s armor in particular:

you are painting from here |---| to here.
You need to paint from here|--------| to here.

Mr. Dragonsreach gave me this advise a long time ago, kicking me up a point.

The elf\'s face is great, expressive, but could also stand a bit more highlighting. Think stage makeup. The scale and the lights are going to kill the contrast, so you have to enhance it with paint.

Finally, paint more. The more you paint, the better you will get (funny how lots of things work that way.)

I\'m going to give you what I think is the best piece of advice I was given:

\"Don\'t aim for a 6 or 7 go for a 10. Work to achieve that level of paintwork. It\'ll push your abilities and increase your capabilities. \"

What a great statement. Or, for those who are trying to compete. Paint as if you want to win the Sword. ( I know I want one.)

Master a colour group such as reds then move on to master another colour grouping.
Remember there are more than three levels of highlights. :)

Yeah, scariest thing I remember was hearing Anne Forester talk about nine layer reds. Then I tried it. Works great, but takes a damn long time.
