Well... mission accomplished. Sort of.
I saw the old man, once again, and once again, he was just suddenly on the bus without it stopping, but he completely ignored my attempts at contact.

So, I\'m at a loss as to whether I should bother trying other things.

Barstool: maybe you should try tapping him on the shoulder? Maybe get someone you know to come and see if they can see him too, or if he\'s just a figment of your imagination (though I kinda doubt that, being that you can hear him too).

Is he actually solid? Is there a depression in the seat? Can the driver or any other passengers see him? Does he always sit in the same seat? What happens if you sit there?

I haven\'t tried to touch him (invading personal space and all). The bus seats on the TTC tend to be hard plastic with a bit of useless material on them, so you can\'t leave an impression unless you break the seat.

As to the other customers, that\'s hard to say. I don\'t know about other transit system riders, but in Toronto, the vast majority of the population have developed what I refer to as \'The TTC Stare\'. Pay no attention to anyone else, and try not to look in any one direction for too long, lest someone think you\'re staring. Talking to the other riders almost invariably gets strange and/or slightly offended looks.

He usually sits in the same seat. 2nd single seat on the left side of the bus. I\'ve never seen him if someone was already in that seat.

when one thing teleports (or in this case, sits) into the same place as another being, the original resident of that space dies. Basically a way to kill people in unreal tournament and doom, and halo IIRC.
