Puts on old crotchety voice:

When I was a boy we didn\'t have your fancy plastic giants. We had real metal giants! And if you wanted to convert them you had to use hacksaws and power tools! And we had to walk uphill through the snow to get them.

Not technically my best piece any more, but still probably my favorite: Please vote :) Thanks.

I\'ve been a big fan of this piece for a long time. Is it really only just getting an entry on CMON?

The way the snow is footprinted gives the impression that the giant is running away from the slayers. It makes the giant a sympathetic character to me, and adds greatly to the scene.

I paint my thumb.
When faced with psychotic slayers, even a giant is better run lol

Dig the theatrical drama with it. The giant\'s expression and the dwarfs almost covered in snow add to it. It\'s vibrant!

Pah, when I were a lad we \'ad to get up at dawn and crawl on our hands and knees over broken glass to get our giants!

Good job overall, very nice to see deep snow like this and it\'s done very well.

Doug, I am glad to see that you have put this up at CMON. I voted and commented. This was my favorite piece from the Chicago competition that year. He is still sits here happily with a few new friends. :D

Very nice! A touch more shading overall but a great diorama that actually tells a story not onlya bunch of guys fighting. Voted a 9.

The snow looks great.. is it the old baking soda trick or did you expand the recipe? :) I would be afraid to put the diorama under sunlight.. that\'s how real the snow looks.

No, seriously...Lucky you! I\'ve got to see a few of Dougs stuff in person too. As good as they look here, they STILL look better in person.

Wow, that peice has soooo much character to it. Like Avelorn said, that snow looks almost too real. You got the whole snow packing physics down. It\'s my favorite peice so far, not only from a painting view but just pure entertaining it is to look at.
