Great work I just voted you a 9 and left a comment that basicaly says that all I would do differently is to make the cutting edge of the weapon brighter.
How did your mini do?

The skin tones look fantastic. NMM is great for the plate areas. The chainmail (is that what it is?) area needs some work. The color is too close to the plate (unless it is supposed to be gold chainmail).

What is the thing sticking out of the weapon? Is that a banner - or a handle? It looks metal.

These are VERY MINOR nit-picks, overall, this mini is superb.

To make it more of a GD contender:
Freehand the cloak. Lots of embrodery.
Show base or even better, the latest trend is game bases that remove from the showbase.

The chainmail is supposed to be gold.

I followed the painting guide quite closely in terms of actual colours- blue cloak, gold armour etc. I wanted to try the techniques that I employed on my Elven archer to this model.

The chainmail is actually done in \'real\' gold, as the NMM/bone effect didn\'t really work out on my other model.

It\'s a banner which is there to just add some movement to the model and hide the join of the weapon- it had snapped off.

Thanks for your other tips regarding how to make it more of a contender for GD, I\'m sure your advice will be very useful.

In the actual competition, the model got through the first round, but didn\'t place, although it did feature on the big screen...

Currently, a picture of it can be found on the main GW site, in the entrents section, so it must have done well to say the least.

I must say congratulations to the winners in the catagory.

What CtanSupportGroup Hasn\'t said is that last year he was in the Young Bloods, this year he was being judged against the Full Hit and to get Two Finalist Certificates first shot ain\'t bad. (No wonder I keep an eye on him just in case)

As for the Gil-Galad It was damaged on the bus and fixed just before we got there!

Man, DR, better get your hammer out. CTAN, that is amazing that you can come out of the youngbloods and still manage 2 certificates in your first year.
