Hi everybody,

here my last mini, Gilles de Rais from the game Hell Dorado.
I\'ve painted him as a daemon.
Painted with oils and acrylics.

nice work, love the base. what made youuse acrylics on some parts and oils on the others?
Oils are easiers for large parts.
I love some colours and some effects with oils too. I don\'t know how I could make the same with acylics paints.
It\'s my 5th mini painted with oils & acrylics. Before, I painted only with acrylics.
But in my painting club, many good painters paint with oils. I wanted to test this medium.

i know how you feel. i have been experimenting with oils myself but with varying success. did you do the oils first? did you use any kind of masking medium to stop it spilling over?

For me, oils are easier for large parts.

For the painted part with oils, I paint first with acrylics like Foundation GW over an undercoat GW skullwhite.
I\'ve did this for the red cloack and the blue/grey clothe in front.
You have to have a colour base very well painted before painting with oils.
After, I use oils: colour base, shades, highlights...

here pictures with my 2 versions of this mini (the 2nd will be finished in the next days)
