Glaze for OD?

I\'m working on a Khador Destroyer and I want to smooth out the transition on the Olive Drab. I\'m using Vallejo US OD for a base, and I\'m not sure if I want to just thin that and go for it, or use something else. I\'m thinking Green Ink would be TOO green, so I\'m leaning towards yellow, or a thinned brown/flesh-wash glaze. Anyone have any thoughts?? TIA!

Hi Michael, what are you transitioning to?

Einon - sorry I guess I should have been more specific! Basecoat is Vallejo US Olive Drab that\'s been highlighted with Vallejo Game Color Camoflauge Green ( a more yellow green). I used mixes of OD:CAMO 3/1, 3/2, 1/1, 1/2 and a little pure CAMO.

The problem was I had to stop after the 3/2 mix and come back to it the next day. When I started with the 1/1 mix the transition line between THAT mix and the previous one is fairly harsh. So, I\'d like to smooth out the highlights with a glaze, rather than re-mixing everything. Hope that clarifies where I\'m at! ;)

Ah, the noodles... you should\'ve tried the rice, instead. ;)

Just don\'t drink the wine.

Right, with you now. If you want to try a glaze of the base colour go for it, that often works well.

Other than that just try thinning the 1:1 mix and building it up slowly. You sometimes get this sort of problem - the steps between 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 mixes between two colours will not necessarily be even because of differences between the paints.

Thanks - I\'ll give it a shot. I tried glazing with yellow ink just to see if it would make a difference and it didn\'t. Sigh.
