Glaze medium

Of course I\'m a really bad painter, but I think it\'s great. It decrerases the paint\'s opacity, making it more translucent. The paint then works a little like inks, but can be controlled better.
What I did was priming a mini white, then washing black and then just paint onto it using the glazes I made with the Glaze medium. It looks crappy like all my minis, but not as crappy as some of the others, so I\'m half way there
I would take a picture so you could see what I was talking about, but I can\'t find the camera....

Glaze is nice stuff
I used the glaze medium to make a glaze for skin. The surface of the mini didn\'t have the \"glow\" I was looking for, and the glaze medium helped. I mixed it with flesh-colored paint and then applied it to the face.
Has anyone tried glaze medium mixed with Vallejo Smoke? Or is that overkill?

I\'ll throw in my comments, as well, on the glaze medium (even though they\'re not entirely new or original, but whatever).
This stuff is pretty neat. I\'ve found that it slows the drying time just a touch, too, so in addition to making your paints a bit more transparent, it will act like a bit of a retarder.
I did an experiment with this stuff, trying to build on the \"underpainting\" technique that Eric Louchard first mentioned in an article on this site. I did a write up with the full details as well; just check the articles section.

ah man. and all this time i\'ve been using matte medium for this very purpose
now i have to get some and try it.
