Glazing

I have been painting for a while and I have always managed to get my blends by simply highlighting and shading. I have never really used glazes to help color transitions but I wanted to give it a try and I wanted to know a couple of things about glazes.

1. How dilute should the paint be for a glaze?

2. After I dip my brush in the glaze paint do I wipe off extra moisture with a paper towel, like I am painting with real dilute paint?

3. How do you keep the glaze uniform on the mini so that it is not stronger in recessed areas and stuff like that?

Most guides recommend 1:15 to 1:20 paint to water.

As Nightlife says 1:15 or 1:20. The thinner the better.

You can do, which helps to prevent \"flooding\" the area with liquid.

3. How do you keep the glaze uniform on the mini so that it is not stronger in recessed areas and stuff like that?
See above. Plus I find it handy to have a semi dry brush available to \"Suck up\" any excess puddles.
