Seems now that not only is everyone intent on sticking their heads in the sand, they\'re formulating a scapegoat!

I dunno, I am heavily leaning towards the \"global warming is not true\" camp as well.
It has however, become a religion.
The facts that have been coming out on a regular basis now, are starting to show there is more of a debate about this than Al Gore wants you to believe.
It may still be true, however, scientists NEED to review the data, and make sure of the facts...not just run on a hypothesis and call it fact.

i think it very amusing that no one can grasp that climate change is both essential and inevitable.
it\'s been roundly proven that it happens all on it\'s own and we have millions of years of proof. hell the fact we can breath at all proves it. planets don\'t start with blue skies.
yes we might be helping it along but we would anyway. that\'s what large mammals do.
you can\'t fix it or stop it and i seriously doubt you could slow it down. it\'s natures way of getting rid of the flu. a fever and a lie down.

We know from various sources that the Earth\'s climate has gone through cooling/warming cycles repeatedly over recent geological time. So for climate to be static would be unusual.
I think we should all remember this: regardless of any additional factors if it\'s not getting cooler we\'re in a warming cycle (so since we\'re not heading toward another ice age we\'re still warming after the last one!)
And major trends aside, even within recorded history climate changes in the past have been at least as dynamic as we\'ve seen in the last 50 years or so. Just look at Greenland - the Norse settlers weren\'t being ironic when they named it lol

Thats because we ARE on a cooling trend, at least geologically speaking. Trouble is that recent decadal evidence suggests we are experiencing unprecedented (for the last 10,000 odd years) warming.
Thats what really worries me is that the real anthropogenic change is being masked by geological scale cooling so the actual human effect is far bigger than we realise.
Irrespective of cause, climate change, either warming or cooling, is really bad for humans, the whole of human civilisation has existed in a 10,000 year period of unusually stable climate, yet minor perturbations during this period have brought civilisations crashing down.
Its gonna be interesting to see what happens, but I think we are in for a hard time over the next 100 years.
EDIT: Without even checking the validity of the article, I was highly suspiccious of the close coupling between atmosphere and a single orgamism, that simply does not occur in natural systems, they are far too complex to be so simple. Too many feedbacks and interactions. Then when I actually read a bit of the methodolgy it was obvious it was a joke, sounded like an episode of Star Trek. \"I\'ll just depolorise the primary EPS manifold, then we can sublimate the tertiary plasma grid and centrifuge the DNS connectors and we should end up back at the point in time we left at\"

As I really hate fake stuff, I had to look things up. Yup, nobody listed there is on the faculty phone book at Arizona. And a WHOIS of the website says that it is registered to Dr Hiroko Takebe of Okinawa University, but the billing goes to David Thorpe, Country of GB. It was also registered on Nov 2, so its a bit quick to be a respected journal.
And then a quick search of the \"journal\" name reveals this blog noting the spoof.
I\'ve really thought about doing a serious website about global warning, truly trying to present everything without spin and giving the up and down sides of each new piece of data. But I\'m lazy and don\'t want to spend the time.

in fact even now there is still doubt over what will happen. will the rising heat create a vapor blanket that will plumet us into an ice age? or will the melting icecaps drown us all?

I\'ve given up, myself. It doesn\'t matter if climate change is anthropogenic or not, whether Al Gore is a charlatan or not. Most people would not give a crap, and would not want to change their behaviour, no matter what the case was. Why? Simply put, because preserving the world for a bunch of great-grandkids they will likely not live to meet is not nearly as satisfying as buying even more plastic sh*t for their houses, and driving around in their automobiles.
I will probably have children, but with any luck, their generation will mostly choose not to, thus reducing the number of sentient beings who will have to witness the ensuing unpleasantness. By then, the apes and dolphins will probably be gone as well.
