So I recently decided to paint the base set from gloomhaven.
I have never painted miniatures before so wanted a bit of feedback on how to improve on these.
After doing a few weeks of research and watching tonnes of videos I finally took the plunge and went down to my local GW and bought a load of paints and ordered some decent brushes and lots of other paints and items online.
I am quite pleased with how my first 3 miniatures came out but I really struggle to get the paint looking smooth and not too “gloopy”. I have thinned down the paints with mediums and water to try and get the paint to appear smoother but I’m not having a great deal of luck. I’m sure this is how I’m applying the paint but would welcome any constructive criticism.
I have also also invested in a wet palette and will be painting the final two base set hero’s with this (these were done with a standard palette. If got the big for painting big time and find it incredibly creative and relaxing.
Anyway, any advice or tips to improve on these would be greatly appreciated.
