Glossyness in Dullcoat

Hey guys.
I usually dullcoat after each part of a miniature is completed. I had a can that I was using for a while and I ran out so I got some more. I just finished dullcoating the model that I\'m working on and it dried completely satin and glossy. Has anyone had this problem before? How do I fix it?

Shook well? The flattening agents tend to settle. You gotta shake the stuff up.

Too heavy a coat will cause an eggshell or semi-gloss finish.

Bad can? Never heard of a bad batch of Dul Coat, but they are human.

I shook it for a good 3 min. I did use a second coat when I saw that the first came out glossy... Maybe too much? :redface:
If I did use too much, how do I (I will not strip this model! ) fix this?

I know this is stupid but just checking.

Dullcote do, do a gloss varnish as well, have you accidently got the gloss version.

Another light coat should flatten it back down if it was just a case of too much.

Most likely over-spraying.

Dullcote will go satin/non-matte if you spray too much on or spray too closely.

The best wya to use it is to put on 1-2 coats of testors glosscote followed by 3-4 very fine coats of dullcote.

The glosscote will protect it from damage, the dullcote will remove the shine.

But, remember, VERY fine coats of dullcote: you want to \"mist\" it on, not spray it on hard and directly.
