Goblin Warboss (now with Vote link :D )

Hi all,

Its been hard to actually find time to paint these days. Since my last submission (a griffon inquisitor) ive only painted the face of an orc and a face of a terminator lol!

I sat down over the past 2 days and painted this goblin. I found it hard to get a decent picture, but i would appreciate any feedback/criticsm.

I hope that its an improvement on my inquisitor, i certaintly think it looks better irl ... but im not sure about the photo ! (if in doubt blame the photography haha)

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Im gonna try and get a better photo tommorrow in the good sunlight

@Dan - im not a huge fan of the skin tone myself, i experimented and i think its too dark ... i am considering lightening the tone and redoing the skin completely... then again i might be too lazy!

I dont mind the skin tone, i just dislike the lightened parts on the chin or the knee.

Apart from that its looking good

Ok i invested in a light tent and used spacemunkies tutorial so hopefully this will give u a better idea.

Mettallics were hard to photograph, i dont like the way they look on the photos.

Added him to the base, still a WIP but i would consider him almost done. All feedback torture and critiscm most welcome.

PS i feel i should point out this is only my 3rd model ever! (if u count a unit of gobbos as 1 model that is!)

Much better photo, and getting metallics to look right is always a challenge - I really like it - he\'s finished now right?

Yeah only 3rd model! But to be fair ive been following tis hobby for a while and i have absorbed a lot of tips from these forums which imo are the best teacher ever! Apart from maybe an apprenticeship with demonherald

very nice painting mate. I think the metals look really good and you have keept it in subtle colors overall. The only thing lacking, is as said the skin, give it a few highlights and a wash (think you can buy these now a days ) and it will take the whole mini up several levels.

Guys,

Due to constraints on my time (and the mountain of models still to do!) I just decided to submit him as is, i know hes not perfect but im still hoping for a score in the 7\'s

Thanks for all your comments and feedback. Im doing more goblins soon, and im definatly changing the skin tone !
