Ok, simple question, what miniature companies, besides GW, makes goblin models. I love GW sculpts, but the goblins are a bit lacking. I know some other companies, but post whatever you can think of, as if I don\'t even know the obvious. Please, also list where I can find said models.

Thank you for the response. I guess since none of the other 19 people who read the post responded, that is confirmation that I have seen the best in goblin minis this world has to offer.

Rackham was ok. But, in truth, it is a little over the top. I know that sounds stupid when discussing models of creatures that don\'t exist, but they were not in the relm of what I want a goblin to look like. The goblin archer and the goblin buckaneer both look cute, but it\'s not really what I\'m going for.

I like the body type of the GW goblins, but they\'ve almost completely ignored the race in terms of individual characters. If you have a full goblin army you have poop to choose from for a warlord.

Well, I guess I\'m gonna have to learn to sculpt, because nobody makes the models I want to see. If it doesn\'t have naked boobs or a long sword nobody wants to buy it.

They certainly had some cool looking orcs and goblin wolf riders.....

They are in the process of going out of business (they still owe me about 30 minis!!) But maybe you can find some still around if you like them.

How many do you need? If you want pure numbers, you\'re probably best off with GW.

If you want a small handful, I\'d look at some of the discount WotC places for some of the Chainmail Goblins -- you might be able to find them 50% off.

They also had some goblins before chainmail, but those are probably a bit hard to find.

Firstly, the forums here on CoolMini are not the big attraction for most folks who visit, so that you didn\'t get alot of responses shouldn\'t be suprising. Patience is a virtue... blah blah...

Secondly, nearly every company that has a fantasy line produces one type of goblin or another. If you visit my collection of links you will find a nice cross section. I personally like Excelsior\'s swamp goblins. They look very savage. They\'re also a bit more buff than GW gobs and will probably make fine heroes. I\'m also looking forward to the release of I-kore\'s Fomorian Goblins. A concept drawing for which can be found at Miniforums.

Legend of the five rings had a bunch of Japanese like goblins a while back. They have since gone OOP but the ideas were pretty cool. Some were even stading on top of each others in order to strike the samurai.. A good idea for a different mini to represent orcs!

Conversion of GW Goblins

I collect the Orcs & Goblin army and the variety found is insufficient to add depth to an army size of 2000+. Hence, I convert the current GW goblins by swapping parts with the...you guess it....Orcs!

You can make them bigger and meaner.

Try also converting from the 40K range.

You only think that GW doesn\'t have any variety in their goblins!

GW likely has over 100 (easily) different goblin minis...

The problem is that you are not looking in the right place!

The UK archive service is the place to start...also, if you can, try looking in OLD issues of white dwarf (I\'m thinking like from 10 years ago or so...)

Those minis are still out there and there are hordes of them!

It saddens me that GW has cut back so much on troop variety...I guess its the cheaper way to go though...
