Tony was given a reply to his question about the AD\'s.
It seems as if he has taken offence at what is a reasonable answer from the OWNER of the site.
Unfortunatley Tony has decided to leave our community, instead of trying to solve what are reasonably easy problems;
A good Pop-up blocker,
Sensible Software protection,
or of more benefit to our community and himself, a Subscription, which is not an onerous amount. (in fact I spend more per week in my local coffee shop than I do for the Annual subscription fee.)
Like Ogrebane I think this is a little bit of a \"Dummy Spit\", but however it is ultimatley Tony\'s choice.

Funny isn\'t it that Tony cannot take any form of criticism, yet he is the first to to overly criticise. He recently left a comment on one of my minis that was 2.2 below the mini score.... this I haven\'t got a problem with but if you feel you can dish it out you should have thick enough skin to take it!
Tony is overly harsh on his comments...but he does POST comments and leave his name by them. At least he took ownership of the opinions.
While I understand his frustration, I don\'t see how CMoN is really to blame. Sure the ads link from there, but I\'m sure they link from hundreds of other internet spots. If he banishes all of them...I doubt he\'d ever see any of the internet.
Spyware and adaware...or at the very least editing your hosts files as Mod suggested would be a solution, I just wonder if it would be enough for him.

the funny thing is he said he would subscribe - just if he felt he had to in order to control the ads.
I ha a philosophy tutor who felt it was a moral thing to give to charity but refused to do so because people asked her to (she felt that giving into pressure was wrong)

Agreed... as I said, I have no problem with that at all. My point was, that if you feel justified in offering criticism, you should really have the decency to take it in return - without going off in a bit of a huff.
I\'ll just add that it\'s a shame really as Tony\'s work is top knotch and everyone benefits from seing it. I hadn\'t realised his gallery had been re-filled since the last time he emptied it ???

Typical Kant.. Morally you should do things to fulfill obligations/dutys not from group-pressure or emotions.
I don\'t think Tony Manero lecturing doing this, he says he\'s going, and why. Nothing more than that really. Shame that he removed all the minis though. He\'ll probably be back later.
On the subject though. I never get malware, or the amount of pop-ups that he get, through cmon when I\'m not logged in. And I allow pop-ups on this site. Seems to be region specific ads, as well. They\'re not exploiting any weakness, are they?
