I've been working on a figure for Euro-Militaire today and as is my habit I've been listening to an audiobook.
It surprised me that I've never read this but it was John Wyndham's "The Chrysalids".

Ok it was published the year before I was born (1955) but the theme, depth, religous bigotry and surprising adult relationships have impressed me.
While I've read a lot of other works by Wyndham this one I'd say is really one that deserves better attention.

If you get the chance its worth the effort.

I read that in school. Decent read. Along the same vein: Brave new world. Ironically that is what one of our new projects at work is named. I chuckle every time that they would call a project the same thing as a post apocalypic story, but I think i am the only one that gets it. At least i know how this new project is going to end...teeheehee...

I read that a long while back when I was in school, too. Can't remember much about it other than a general "it was good". I may well pick it up again once my reading schej is cleared (sometime in 2025, most likely :( )
