Ah, now that you've made it out I can tell the story.
Friend of the family went in for the second half of the hip replacement. One side down, one side to go. They convinced him to take an anesthesia that would just numb him from the waist down, similar to an epidural. Except it went the wrong direction, paralyzing his lungs and heart. Last thing he saw before the bright white tunnel was everybody running around in a complete panic.
He awoke two days later with a tube down his throat. It was a very close call. They did go ahead with the surgery after that, and he insisted that the same anesthesiologist was doing the job on the theory that he would know what NOT to do this time. Everything worked the way it should, and he's recuperating at home.
Glad to see things are doing well.
