I am not sure how you got this impression. I don\'t think everyone actually thinks that.

Are we sure about the photograph?

I don\'t know if I feel comfortable having this kid\'s picture posted here.

As I said in an earlier post, the kid does need to be punished, and issue an apology.

The kid is still a minor, for one thing, and (NO OFFENSE PITYNOMAN) but just an allegation doesn\'t make him guilty. To post his face all over may do more harm than good.

If guilty, let him be punished accordingly, via his parents, GW, or legal ramifications.

I wouldn\'t be too worried about the picture. Most of us will have forgotten this come Christmas so as long as we don\'t run into the kiddish punk before then . . .

Yea`s ...just don`t reproduce till you can keep the lights on and are overly taxed with time,as a kid needs time, and attention...in this case... this kid is prolly as mature as the parent,I mean look at the lil creep!

Because we dinosaurs like to remember our youth as a time of rebellion and we all think that the generation coming up behind us is going strait to hell without passing go - If we were bad as kids, what are you guys like?

Not that that is true, its just the way things have been since man first stood up in all probablitity.

Anyone seen the end of Jay and Silent Bob strike back? I think we should do the same, go door to door and kick ass in the name of honest mini painters :)

Just a quick question

I am confusd by what you say snow dog.... if the purchaser of an item buys the item, surely he buys the rights of that item also. If the item is owned by the buyer, how can the original painter (who gave up his right when he sold it on) claim damages and sue? :bouncy:

even so that kid should not have entered it, even if he does own it....

Hi Snowdog - It\'s not a matter of whether or not they expected their buyers to honor the agreement, but one of copyright infringement. It\'s a creative work and subject to creator\'s control, and Pitynoman\'s got every right in the world to go after these people. He could even sue for what he perceives the value of the fraud.\'

Hmm! How come a mini with a whacking great chip of paint missing managed to WIN a GD?? (no offense intended to pitynoman\'s excellent paint job)

Either the rest of the field was pretty poor or the GW judges had their eyes closed!

Seems to bear out other threads calling for laid down judging criteria dont you think?

worried

as for posting the guys picture... that is even more illegal than cheating in a painting comp.... not only is he under the age of criminal liability but you are infringeing his human rights... (pesky annoying laws that they are)... its not nice at all.

Human rights my @$$. He was surely proud enough of having his picture up on GW\'s website as the Youngblood Demon winner...doubt he would have felt his rights were violated when he showed up in WD as the winner...so...post his friggin\' picture everywhere, as far as I\'m concerned.

up 2 u

thats up to you if you like picking on small children and lowering yourself to his level. :(

he would be fully within his rights to turn round and sue not only the person that put it on but also this site... which would be a crying shame.

insult him, be rude about him but dont show him.

Explain to me how, exactly, showing his picture is picking on him? I\'ll grant you that some of the things said about him are probably overboard, but I don\'t think calling a spade a spade is insulting in any way. He cheated; he got caught; he has now been recognized for his \'infamy\' just as surely as he would have soaked up the ill-gotten adulation that he was going to get before.

So...yeah.

He might have bought the figure but he did not buy the creative rights to it... It\'s exactly like buying a CD or a book, where you have bought the artistic effort but the rights are retained by the artist.

Even if you bought an original painting, unless it clearly states otherwise in the contract the artist still owns its rights and can do whatever they choose with the image properties. You just have the honor of owning the original artwork.
