Hmmm define \'working on\'...

All for Aus GD.

The following are started:

a unit of zombies that I think I started back in 2003 - not even undercoated yet.

a little diorama of a \'mage\' summoning a \'demon\' - undercoated

a undead on skeletal horse - half converted

simple basic dwarf cannon - in bits still

Leman Russ converted from Archaon on foot (yes it works) - half converted

fellowship of the ring - undercoated gandalf

and a buch of ideas, most prominent of which are more space wolfs and a ultra marine rhino.

As you can see I\'m making excellent progress and should have something finished by 2008...

:D

AH CRAP!

Ah trev man i gotta go up against you in the aus GD >< im in melb, so if u dont live down here, u never know, i might be lucky and pass the store lvl lol
but i dont know, im thinkin a saint celestine like ive already done but spending MUCH more time (took me 6 days from scratch including sculpting) to win the local store comp. so if i get a move on ill be lucky to get it done << i work too much and having a gf just kills the inner geek of painting :p
but yeah, thinking a celestine with sculped arm... sum cool weapon and maybe wings ^^ o.0

For GD Oz this year:

two entries down, four to go...

Finished - Ogryn squad, over 300 hours work for the 5 of them, done in urban camo, with an \'EldarHunter\' theme.
Finished - Slaanesh Chaos Rhino. Forgeworld bits, otherwise unconverted, with \'Geiger-esque\' freehand on hull.

WIP - Slaanesh Demon Prince - the big one, not like that little girly one last year ;)
multiple mutations (extra arm, scorpion tail) with head based on pic of lord in Codex. Multiple banners (couldn\'t resist...)

WIP - Duel squighopper(s) versus Ogre marauder. Will enter in Open if it does not fit the duel criteria (which is apparently being changed this year).

To come -

Fantasy single mini - Slaanesh Lord (seeing a theme here??? :) )
LOTR single - Not too sure at this stage, Legolas perhaps. Will be the last one i do - should be able to polish it off at the last minute.

And that\'s it! ? I was hoping to do more this year, but life has got in the way ;)

Welll I got all the bits together for my big mini (WHFB) and some of the bits for duel (Not sure if my idea will fit in yet will have to see) Which store do you enter your stuff in Marcus so I know not to go there

Question...

Are you not allowed to publish finished photos of your GD entries?

I can see it\'s allowed to speak of them, but ?

Also, I can\'t enter a mini, that I expect to bring to GF, in another competition before GD, eg. Total Testosterone?

I\'m a GD entry newb, so I\'m not sure about these things ;) Cheers

nothing to stop you publishing photos before hand. I believe many think it\'s a disadvantage to show your brilliant idea before hand in case it\'s a) stolen or b) bettered by someone else.

Ogrebane, I wouldn\'t be put off entering the same store as me, Even if my entries were all \'sword-worthy\' there are still 2 other placings available in every category to get through to the next round - have faith in your ability :)
But in answer to your question, it will most likely Mt Gravatt this year.

You can only enter GW models in GD, read up on what you can enter in each category
here. If you are entering a GW model into the TT comp, GW will probably not find out about it anyway lol But as far as I know TT is not a Gw comp? ??? I think you could probably enter it in a local GW store comp though. Good luck! :D

I thought it was scored on points, so if they had 4 entries that were all good at the one store they\'d put all 4 through to the next round?

Otherwise you could have the situation where 4 good painters go to the same store and one doesnt get through, when if he\'d gone to the other store he would have.

I know what the catagories are ;) All I asked was if it was possible to use a mini in more than one :D And since the answer is yes, I can rejoice !

TT isn\'t GW related, no, it\'s Wyrd :)

Well, I can finaly say one of my big things I\'ll be working on for GD (hopefully I can get to go!) will be a Diorama, with a Eldar Bonesinger, inspired by the DOW Bonesingers, shaping some wraithbone into a wraithlord.

That is the basic idea. Got the head fixed and working on the body. :D

Hiya, I will be entering the UK golden Demons this year, I made the final cut last year with my only entry - a Ghazgull model that wasn\'t as cool as the one that took gold! Hoping to enter this year-

WFB single- The white dwarf (straight out the blister, no resculpt or conversions- I\'m either brave or stupid!!)

WFB Group- Dwarf slayers (again pretty much out of the blister!)

WFB monster- The plastic giant kit, slight modification with an element of humour

Duel- High elf vs Dark elf

40K Single- Converted Grot/snot based on GW artwork

40k Squad- Converted Terminator squad of my own chapter, The Emperors vengeance

40k Monster- Ork Warboss, converted

40k Vehicle- Forgeworld fighta bomma

And if I get time a LOTR mini just for good measure, although I will be lucky if I finish 2 of the 8 listed above!!!

Hopefully I may be able to meet some of you there- will be great to put a face to a name/model! Will be able to say hi to dragonforge if he is there as he was kind enough to have himself smiling away from behind a moustache as his avatar!

I\'ll be the robust 6ft guy who looks like Junior out of Fraggle Rock, dancing around like a hyperactive child who isn\'t allowed e-numbers but has just ate a bag of skittles, if there are any green dots on my entries!!!

Good luck to everyone in whatever competition and categories they enter in, I always love seeing great painted mini\'s and have respect for painters (I absolutley cannot stand little kids with more pocket money than sense butchering great miniatures which they may as well have painted with a trowell.)

On the subject of the UK demons- I have been researching the winning entries for the past donkey years and it appears that the UK judges favour metallics over non-metallics which I find strange as there is more skill involved in NMM. Does anyone have any advice to support or dispel this theory?

Nope!

But it does seem to be that GW judges gauge the whole model as needing to be viewed from every angle and not just from the best photogenic position, which is where NMM can \"fall down\".
Having said that I could be talking utter rubbish and this year they select an NMM masterpiece.
Stranger things have happened. :D

All right! Finished my Youngbloods entry, woohoo! :bouncy: Hope I\'m good enough to win... hope, do not expect is apparently the best thing to do, so here\'s hoping :D and if our camera is replaced by this Friday, I am entering him in BPitW competition too :D
