golden demon advice

I hope I haven\'t been coming off as mean far from it I just don\'t like to see poor lads get the carrot dangled in front of hem when the judges or other folk say close if you\'d just done x instead of Y .....when the trut can be far from that.. The guy seems like he is keen to do well and that is the key I don\'t want him to build up and b disappointed my point is that there are worse things than not placing in GD ..
@hestan101 If you think I sounded mean then I apologise and say I\'m not reall my mummy told me so...any help you need ever happy to help.

wow thanks for all the feed back and everything everybody cant believe ive got over 430 views... looks like ive kicked something off here
evry time i think iv nialed my ideas i get a load of great new advice... im pretty certain im going for the jungle stuff, and ill dont think ill do the damage. thanks for that advice vincenti, plus ive tried it and im REALLY bad at it. also im having \"pianters block\" at the moment(shut up!!! its sooo a real condition!!!) think ill concentrate on the free hand:flip: next time i post itll probably have some pics of the last gd entry, harry. just bear in mind this is the second character model ive ever painted, so its a bit poor.

practice mainly on one skill at a time concentrating on a few colours.
you have plenty of time before games day to pick the piece you like best for entering.

True, that. If you\'re really passionate about what you\'re painting, you\'ll automatically do a better job because you love it, and this will (hopefully!) show if you enter it in GD. And if you don\'t win, you still have a nicely painted mini that you like!Originally posted by vincenti

You will put in a load of hours and at the end of the day, with Games Days first 3 past the post system ,you are at the mercy of whimsical judges.( though this years judging seemed better than usual ).

Just making the first cut in Golden demon is a real achievement, so well done there!
In respect to the Salamanders, they are described as having Jet Black skin in the new codex (thats black black- and not afro carribean or asian black) due to the high radiation on their homeworld.
There is also some absolutley beautiful artwork of Vulkan He\'stan in the new marine \'dex too, so I would be really tempted to use this as as your main source of inspiration. The armour he is wearing has many overlapping plates, so maybe a techmarine would make a good base to start from?

Greenstuff and ProCreate are both good. Don\'t overlook the virtues of Fimo either, it\'s cheap and mess-free.
