Golden Demon Question

I've recently started on a new project, and came up with something cool.
But it's a project i might like to enter into a golden demon someday, so it has to be legal.

So, here's the issue.
I'm working on an inquisitor and retinue, and i want to place them on a display base. I value painting over playability, so i don't care what kind of base these are on (i'd like them all on termie-bases, but that doesn't work :S).

I wanted to build a small display base for the squad (cd-sized) and since some of the models will be given an action packed pose (and one has wings and a jump pack) I'd like to include different levels, to create something dynamic, and fastpaced.
And also so i can draw the attention to less spectacularly posed models.

But my dilemma is, I'd like one or more models to be standing on an edge, jumping off.
But to see half a base sticking out of a wall just wouldn't look right.
So I figured I'd cut a bit off the base (about 1/4) and paint this as part of the wall.
Official Golden Demon rules say that models need to be on "appropriate sized gaming bases".
Even if these models (and bases) are part of a larger display.
It doesn't say anywhere that these need to be complete, whole bases...

TLDR:
So, can i include a mini with a "cut" base in a squad-category Golden Demon entry?
And still enter it as such at GD?

Any opinions would be highly appreciated.

I would think this would be fine. The main point is that the figures be removable from the display base on gaming bases. A bit missing from one shouldn't cause the judges any concern any more than it would if you stuck it on the tabletop for a game of 40K.

I've seen great things done with bases-in-bases. That is, you have a gaming base that is cut to accept whatever base-portion you come up with for your diorama. The most obvious example to me is the guy(s) who played Daemons in both Fantasy and 40k who made square Warhammer Fantasy bases that were cut and magnetized so that you could put in the figure on its' round 40k base into it.

edit: bonus points if you somehow incorporate this larger base into your diorama somewhere too.

I admit that would be a neat idea, but unfortunately, it's not gonna work here, as the cd is small enough for 5 infantry bases to feel almost crowded.
(i've even considered 4 models, but the rules specify a minimum of 5 models)

In Germany there is - or at least once was (don't if it is still in effect) - a rule stating that the border of the base has to be completely visible. Under these a rules a "cut" base (assuming you cut away a part of the border) would be illegal (sadly).

really shouldn't be a problem as long as the model is able to stand up with the cut base if they take it off the diorama base
