hi there! for all of you entering gduk 05 this year please take note:

i called the events team today and they can confirm that there will be NO large scale mini category this year.

That means that if you are wanting to enter an inquisitor scale mini then it is only eligible for the open category or diorama (if there is more than one of them)

i can confirm that full sculpts ARE allowed, but must be within GW\'s IP.

hope this helps guys

Any reason large sculps arn\'t allowed?

I assume it\'s to do with the fact that GW probabily dont want a inqusitor only category, seeing as Inqusitor is now dead (well a Spcialist game, which means the same thing nowadays)

aparently it is \'something\' to do with the fact that gw were getting a bit narked off by the amount of forgeworld stuff being sold that is not \"game supported\". and probably the re-absorption of fanatic backinto mainstream gw doesnt help either. there were a lot of rumours flying around after last year on why all the forge world was going cheap(er)

anyone know the ruling on 40mm bases in 40K Single Miniature category? Grey knights are allowed them, but I am uncertain as to others.
40mm bases were accepeted in France. I really hope it\'ll be the same in UK.

@Capt spalding : there go my chances, but seeing your work will really be worth it ;).

I shall bear that in mind. I never had a chance anyway, so never mind.

Don\'t say that. This is your chance to let your imagination run loose. Plus for a GD, you\'ll spend much more time on your entry than on a normal mini. At least you\'ll perfect your art ;).

i asked about the 40mm bases thingy too. GW were as vague as ever! they said that the mini should be on the base size it comes with.......this can be square or circular. thus a terminator can go on a square 40mm but not a 50mm or larger. i think that generally if the guys is big and mean, but not monstrous then he can be on a 40mm. as with fantasy then normally a 25mm is maximum size for single (unmounted minis) and 40mm for cavalry.

FYI EVERY Specialist game has at least the next 5 years planned out. Have you ever read an issue of Fanatic magazine? Have you ever visited the forums on ANY of the specialist websites? I guess the huge attendence of specialist GTs and new releases are just a smoke screen, for the fact that these games are DEAD. But Im sure you mean they are dead to you. like a father might say to his disowned son. Or maybe your a BIG fan and you mean they are dead sexy. But hey you are in Nottingham so maybe you know something JJ and the rest of us Fanatics don\'t.:D Hey man if your holding out on us.....:moon:

@Capt spalding : without spoiling the surprise, how many entries are you planning on presenting? I\'ll at least have one in WFB individual. Not my best work and more based on the paint job than the sculpt, but at least I won\'t be empty handed :p.

two I think, one in the duel, one in wfb single, although it may end up in monster....I know what I want to do, I just have to work out the fluff behind it:D

re:GDUK ?
I\'ll ask Frenchkid for Jeremie. Last I heard, he was speaking more of the spanish GD. I also think that Allan won\'t be coming this year to GD UK. But then again, I don\'t \"hang out\" with them, so hopefully there will be some surprises.

yup off to gd spain too, it will be fun :)

although it has more to do with wanting to see luis do the \"chicken\" dance again than anything else:D

The torero bit was fun too :p. Are the spanish the only ones to be so entertaining at GDs?

They\'re more or less the same as in 2004, but the 54mm cat went out the door and is now in the Open cat.

Plus apparently they\'re being stricter than in France for the base sizes.
