Golden Goblin 06

Hi everyone!

As promised here are the result and pictures from the annually Golden Goblin competition held at Fantasia in Umea.

We were happy to see a high number of entries and some of the most stunning miniatures ever painted in Umea.

The Open category was the most hotly competed one with a number of extraordinary entries! It was also a way to try to get as many of the serious and dedicated painters/modellers around Umea to enter as possible. As you can see from the pictures it was a complete success but also led to headache when it came to the judging part! The judge, our store manager Andreas, said that there was at least 5 or 6 entries that he thought deserved to place in that category and I can only agree. My respect for the GD judges has definately risen another notch. We hope that next year will be an even tougher competition and for myself I can only say, you won\'t get away as easy next time. I am already forging plans deep down in my crypt of miniature madness...

Congratulation to all the winners!! :D

Great fun to see some pictures. Nicely done Sven! :flip:

I agree that there where quite stiff competition for placing in the open. Especially since the entries where of pretty decent quality with not that much setting them apart from eachother.

The pictures are great :)

And you are probably right about people improving... I will defiantly do something improved and different next year. This competition was the best ever in Umeå :)
