Painted this up yesterday for sale because I\'m skint lol
Also had a bit of an experiment with the skin tones.

The words on the plinth are from his fishing song:
\"Rock and pool is nice and cool
So juicy sweet...
Our only wish to catch a fish
So juicy sweet...\"

Cheers :)

The title is just the LoTR font, kerned and leaded in photoshop and printed out. Then stained it with a tea bag, extra staining was just added with MIG pigments.

Water is acrylic resin, I got a tub of it with MIG pigments a while back. It\'s for mixing with plaster to make wet mud effects.

It\'s like PVA, but dries harder and faster (And doesn\'t peel off like PVA can). And it\'s slightly thicker so you can \'sculpt\' texture into it.
I put a few layers on thick, then watered it down a bit and put a few more layers on. The watered down stuff helped level the texture out a bit. Easy peasy.

Nice one! I like the base very much. I do think you could have increased the contrast of the skin a bit as you might need something extra to attract attention on this mini!

One thing I don\'t really like are the leaves because they seem out of scale. I had the same problem on the leaves to my Malbeth the Seer. You can try painting them more as well to make them go together with the mood of the piece.

I\'v got another Gollum to paint, so this was sort of a practice, which was why I was experimenting with the skin tones.

The leaves..yea, other people mentioned that on Wyrd. I figured that with the leaves good for 30mm+ scale stuff then they would look good and help show the size of Gollum. But then the LoTR stuff is a smaller scale again, so I suppose they probably are a bit to big, never really thought about it. To late to change it now though so il just leave them be.

Thanks for all the comments aswell :)

yep, that base looks great for sure.
Nice paintjob as well.
I love when quickie projects turn out, it feels like such an accomplishment.
