I\'m not super familiar with the IM comic, but my impression is that Tony Stark is much more macho than Robert Downey

I\'ve never thought of Tony Stark as being particularly macho. He\'s in good shape out of necessity.

Remember, he originally had to wear the armour to regulate his heart-beat after being badly wounded. He keeps his cholesterol down, he exercises so that he could carry around the original *transistorized* breastplate of the suit at all times (the thing must have weighed 100 pounds at least).

He made a ton of money with inventions, corporations... so that\'s how he attracts all the women in the comics...

And remember... Tony Stark is an alcoholic... so who better to play him, huh?

I think I vaguely remember an Iron Man cartoon from my youth (all of my memories are vague now). The whole thing was quite stiff (unintentional innuendo, honest). I would have to agree with Vincegamer that I would picture a more traditionally macho actor.

Spawn was a bit of a letdown, but I liked the Spiderman movies! And Venoms in the next one!!!! :twisted:

I think they\'ll f**k this one up though.

The spiderman movies were ok, but they desperately needed an editor. So many scenes that went no where....

I think Robert Downey could play the smug and arrogant Tony Stark...and I guess it doesn\'t matter what he looks like in the suit.....LOL

I would never have thought of it but Robert Downey Jr is perfect for this, the dude has serious range and charisma as an actor and I think he will do a great Tony Stark.

I\'ve just re-read the Ultimates and I can most definately see him veering to that Tony persona, which would be all good as far as I\'m concerned.

I actually think that Spiderman 2 is just about the perfect action movie Supervike. Other than the scene with the chocolate cake nothing stands out in my mind as surplus to requirements. Scenes don\'t necessarily need to go anywhere in summer blockbusters as long as they are cool!

I guess I will have to rewatch it....(i did buy it on DVD for 6 bucks)...But the chocolate cake scene made no flipping sense at all. That an the scene where he is establishing he doesn\'t have his super power anymore....so much of it was extraneous (is that a word?)

I am a Spidey fan from way back, and tried not to be too harsh on it, but damn its long for no reason.

As far as comic book movies go, the X-Men movies were dead on great for action....And surprisingly the Daredevil movie (another 6 dollar find) was pretty darn good (PROVIDED you get the directors cut.) I don\'t even like Ben Affleck, but it still worked for me.

Yeah, for some reason it seems to make a hell of a lot more sense with the storyline in the directors cut.
I was dissapointed with Electra though, Still kinda liked it. mmmmm I wonder why???

I agree with the statememnts made earlier. Downey had a lot of problems with addiction. I think he will bring his own experiences to the character ad make it more believable.

Elektra never made it to Korea. I like dardevil. I would love to see the director\'s cut though.

Don\'t get me started on X-Men.

Spawn was the biggest let down.Especially since I am a fan. John Leguizamo played a perfect Violator.

Meh, they pretty much did that with Hulk, and it sucked balls.

I thought Hulk had a lot of really good stuff going on. The across panel editing style was fantastic, the storyline was good if slightly flawed at times (the end was a little bit shocking) and the acting was tip top. Not perfect but certainly not at a ball sucking level.

Elektra on the other hand does indeed suck balls.

You know what I mean by that, but I wonder which perverts have a sudden interesting mental picture flashing up too!
