Right, so I\'m not all that familiar with Iron Man, But I do have lots of opinions about comic book movies.

Spiderman 1 and 2 - As far as comic book adaptations these are probably the best - pretty decent job even if they were hollywoodised. the only issue I really have with them is killing off Doc Oc. Whyyyy.

Xmen 1, Xmen 2 - very cool - Xmen 3 Still cool but I think it would have been better with Bryan Singer still directing - but he was lured away to do Superman Returns - but more on that.

Blade 1 - Awesome film - Blade 2 and 3 - should never have made it past the screenplay.

Daredevil - Interesting film - didn\'t really appeal to people that didn\'t like the comic. I really enjoyed it though.

Elektra - Oh my god - 2 hours of Jennifer Garner Crying. Not even the tight suit could save that film. How difficult is it though, all people wanted to see in that film was a chick in skin tight outfits beating the crap out of people. And they go and spoil it with \"character development\"

Hell Boy - An acquired taste. I\'ll say no more

Batman - the original series. Tim Burton made the first two movies and you could tell. Really enjoyed those. the last two sucked. I\'m surprised they managed to revive it with Batman Begins, but they did.

Superman Returns - This sucked. the only saving grace is that it was Superman, but the less said the better.

Fantastic Four - interesting film as the start of a fantastic four series of films, but with the way this one went down at the box office that\'s not likely.

Yeah - I like dodgy movies and comic book adaptations fall squarely into that category. I\'m sure I\'ve forgotten some, but if I remember any more...

Edit - Remembered three more

The Hulk - Cinematography was fantastic, however the movie sucked. Now that was one that raped childhood memories.

The Punisher - Violent no storyline - fantastic.

Spawn - biggest problem with this movie was that they tried to keep it PG rather than biting the bullet and making it no under 16 or better no under 18. Hell, the cartoon version of spawn was rated 16.

Can someone tell me where the hell I acquired it then? I loved the movie but I\'d never heard of the character or comic before.

Haven\'t seen most of these, but I just want to say superhero movies have gotten better. Go back old school to the Craptain America movie or any CR superman after the first one.
Or even further back to the horrendous Adam West Batman movie.

The genre is growing respectable and the movies are getting better - with the caveat that sequels always suck worse than originals (since Daredevil wasn\'t that good no surprise Elektra sound so bad).

I\'m going to have to own up to an embarassing secret here... I loved Superman 2 - possibly more than the original. Terrence Stamp was suitably menacing and I quite fancied the woman in shiny-black but can\'t remember her name. Supes 3 was a laugh as long as you don\'t treat it as a serious movie and the 4th was, indeed, just rubbish. Didn\'t bother seeing the new one though as Christopher Reeves will always be Superman for me (as long as I block out that 4th film obviously)

I didn\'t mean that you needed to have acquired a taste for daredevil, but rather for the style of film.

Forgive me Billy.
Superman 2 did have a LOT of redeeming qualities.
It was superman with a bit of tongue in cheek. I still think of it as the epitome of movie product-placement though (I\'ll never forget the giant exploding cocacola sign).

I disagree with Highbulp Billy. I missed it at the Cinema and recently got hold of it on DVD.
I completely enjoyed it, the possibility of a Fascist England was never so easiy or clearly defined as in the comics. (Don\'t forget they were originally written in the Thatcher era, were there was a great deal of concern over the Right Wing traits of our then Government. As opposed to the traits of our current government. )

The movie now is, unfortunatley, all too relevant and should stand as a salutory reminder, however fictional and cliched, of how easily a democracy can be swayed. (Ok Political lecture over folks.)

Personally I thought that the Character of V was well portrayed by Hugo Weaving, and in some of the earlier sequences by James Purfoy, who had to leave the movie. V is as twisted as the regime he is trying to undermine.


One movie I\'ve not seen discussed anywhere is Niel Gaiman\'s \"Mirrormask\". Visually it\'s a beautiful piece of Cinema, but again there are several places where I think it\'s been tailored for the Movie Audience and I think it\'s too short, given that the lead up takes 20 minutes before the visual stimulation starts.

V for Vendetta was very good, IMHO.

Haven\'t seen the new Superman movie yet...but I did love Superman 2 quite a bit...(sarah douglas\' wonderful cleavage!) I was just coming of age when that movie came out.

Batman Begins was very good, and the best of ALL the Batman movies.

Fantastic Four wasn\'t too awfully bad. It was a fun movie to watch...

The Punisher was ok too.

I could even stomach Elektra...but that Hulk movie JUST PLAIN BAD!!

I went to see the Hulk film with school, and we all, even the teachers, ended up leaving after about 6hours (it really felt that long) It got to the point where he was running through some desert and the plot just seemed to be going nowhere fast.

That\'s exactly the problem. Plot + Hulk = bad idea. Just let him smash shit and maybe throw in a little Betty love story. Not all that \'my dad is the bad guy\' horseshit.

Sorry, my comment was about the \"review\" not the film. I haven\'t actually seen the film yet but as it has Natalie Portman in it I\'m sure to enjoy it when I do

I LOVE the daredevil comics and HATED this movie. Biggest bit of pants ever. I remember seeing a making of where they went on and on about the fight scene in the play ground and how they practised for two weeks. How come it still looked like poos then?
