Good breakdown on drawing and I suppose sculpting hands.

It's useful to see it broken down in this kind of way (lots of similar points in Burne Hogarth's books and I think in Andrew Loomis).

It's amazing that we can 'know' something intimately from seeing it every day all our lives but be unable to truly see it properly. Both in drawing and in sculpting the ears are a good example of this, where there's far too often not tilted backwards (enough or at all). This is something I had to confront in my own work, where I was doing them properly they looked wrong!
